Donate 4,000,000 credits

Happy new year to all fellow Space Cadets.

The last few days Federation have been summonsing me through the belletin board to give 4,000,000 credits to a nearby star system, suggesting I might get some sort of recognition. After the third belletin, I finally succumbed and paid the needed funds. Expecting fireworks or maybe a presidency I got nothing but a few standard blue triangles.

Am I a sucker or will I benefit from this splash of cash?

The mission giver was actually an Imperial spy pretending to act on behalf of the Federation. True story. I know him well.

Don't know if this was a good decision. For me it looks that the rep and system influences system is still very broken. So I guess you will get close to nothing for your 4mil

I did one of these missions in a system at war. It was my first mission, I did one more small delivery mission for them and achieved friendly to the minor faction so it does seem to give you a rather large rep boost.
