Engineers Done the correct thing,but still no Abnormal Compact Emission Data !

Best advice from INARA and your good selves to find ACED is : USS (Encoded emissions), Ship scanning (Combat ships), Mission reward.
I have spent many hours in USS and now doing Hi CZs , still not a single one !!!
Is my only recourse to find a mission that will do it? (I don't want to do missions for now)

Any up to date advice from those who have picked up ACED in 2.3.11 ?

ACED is surprisingly rare.

Going to a high-population system in lockdown and scanning the authority ships in SC is usually a good bet for harvesting mats that come from scanning combat ships. You can quickly reset the instance for a new batch of ships by dropping to normal space and low waking again. I picked up one ACED like that yesterday while collecting untypical shield scans.

Thanks,but that is terrible !
I am the "White Night" defending Engineering, now I see why others moan. CIF, EFC, Arsenic, Polonium, now ACED.(and missions swapping rewards for the stuff you DON'T want)
Oh well, I wanted it for Clean Drive and Detailed Surface Scanner , I can live without those(decided to do dirty drive and G4 Det. Surf. Scanner)

Well, I am now giving up. I did try 3 different systems I was friendly with and after some board hopping,and going through 100s of missions in the stations, nothing :(

Hey wait a minute, that does ring a bell. NOT in Hi CZs but in supercruise !

I could have just got lucky but....


got 6 last night quite quick. I went to a system at war with the intention of scanning a CZ but got nothing of interest from that. On the way out I got a HGS and picked up a couple of bits and pieces and then got an encoded with 3 ACED's..... kept looking but got nothing else.

Read up on ACED's and theres an old post that suggests very large population/high security that you not allied too as they tend to have lots of elite anaconda security ships..... had no luck scanning those in SC BUT did get another encoded with 3 ACED's.

The whole trip was less than an hour


It could have just been my lucky night however if they are connected with elite warships then both scenarios do sort of make sense. I have a rather short tolerance for repetitive stuff so I always end up moving on to another system if nothing shows fairly quick, I genuinely think this has helped me out with mats

Really hope this helps, especially as Ive already blown 4 of the 6

Just picked up today, scanning a security Anaconda, not even any special state in the system.

Just got 1 drop of AECDx3 in Maia, which is of course an independent anarchy, industrial refinery with only 74000 people living there, or rather it's not a high security, highly populated system.

It is however at War, so this may help the RNG.
