Don't do this ... it'll ruin your night!

Imagine doing that in a Lakon with 440t of Progenitor Cells.
Get rid of the key bind or move it far far away from everything else.;)

Sounds like a very hazardous and costly key to have bound! Are you able to rebind it with any modifiers like "Ctrl+J" or "2xJ", therefore making it much harder to accidentally jettison your cargo but still having the option to quickly dump it all in one go in case you actually did ever need to do so? I can image a few pirate scenarios or when fuel consumption is enabled in game (as your total mass affects your fuel usage) where you may want to just dump everything straight away as a last resort to save your skin (& hull).

Can you imagine, someone who has spent considerable time getting their credits high enough to buy that ship they always wanted to have, and on the maiden voyage out of Chango Dock, they leave the station and immediately get bombarded with 16 containers travelling balistically... and they are reset back to a sidewinder....

Now that would be tragic !

Thanks for that picture Jake ... made me give a belly laugh :D

Those keybinds can be pesky, I unbound the dump all cargo so I didn't hit it accidentally.

However, I now seem to have got into the habbit of hitting boost instead of target, the problem being that I have started hitting target to see who is playing chicken with my space cow going through the slot. Not killed me yet, but apologies to a certain Hauler pilot - there was no malice intended !

They're also travelling at 18c so they'll be in the nearest star system next month

Wouldn't it just remain absolutely still (or at least continue at your pre-cruise velocity) when it left the warp bubble? in fact, shouldn't the cargo remain in the bubble, and continue with you to your destination (depending on ejection force)?

I did find a bunch of containers outside Chango Dock yesterday. Might be yours. I did get a laugh finding a possible story behind it all.
