Don't expect a 50 million CR a week bonus to be easy to get

Some people are upset about the rank system being to hard to get.

First of all 50% rollover every week and doing multiple tasks will get you powerplay points quicker.

Someone who doesn't play often WILL NOT get to rank 5, that's how it has to be, only the most hardcore players will get rank 5.

They ARE NOT going to pay you a bonus equivalent to a new python every week if you just an average player.

Ranks 1-3 will be for average players and they are relatively simple to get over the course of a month.

personally id be happy with just getting paid enough to cover average ammo/repair costs when i deliver printers/cans of prisoners

Course of a month? I did a bit of combat for 4-5 hours in a wing with a few buds and got a little over 500 merits xD

Ya tink? :D

I n I hear ya and agree.

Reward don't cover credit investment required - nor should it. Fun hobby not career path. A way of spending credits - helps build value to credits. Making rosey money? Why not invest in you favorite Power. Archon done good so wi help him out - keep techno facist and Wayland Industries away.

Don't want to invest? No worries - Get back to trading/smuggling if ya want reliable credits....!

Sistren an Bredren - Powerplay not someithing you 'win'. Getting involved be the fun, not the payout.

Example:Basketball/Football/whatever..

I posted a worst case scenario.
Understandable. I agree that the people thinking it will be awful are expecting it to be easy to make insane money. Lvl 3 isn't at all difficult to get and a spare 500k a week is a nice bonus for a casual player. I myself would love to reach lvl 5 but realistically will probably peak at lvl 4 which I am fine with :p

Yeah... the real problem with this, is that with the decay, it makes it virtually impossible for someone who can't play for hours a day to achieve that rating.

It's punishing, and in my opinion completely unnecessary to have the decay in place for power rating.

I can understand having the decay for reputation, as it gives people who are hostile a chance to get back to neutral ground. But there is no benefit for decay in powers.

With the costs associated with doing missions for your power, and the credit rewards abysmally low, you basically have to have expendable credits in order to take part. Since the reward values do not cover repairs/ refuels (unless you're in a sidey or eagle).

I really hope FD take a re-look into this, to allow everyone to take part. Not just those who are sitting on billions of unspent cash.

That's a crazy assumption to make. I spent 4-5 hours gaining merits through combat and then hopped in my asp and made a few hundred thousand through some casual exploring and came back to do more combat. Balance your roles and you can rank up in your power and make money whilst doing so. I'm far from rich.

What rewards you after? Curious! :D

Power bonuses small - best stuff you can gain witout being pledged.

Here's the thing... a lot of people don't have 4-5 hours to spend in the game at a given time.
When you are logged out, your rating decays.
Right now, while I'm at work, my rating and reputation is decaying.

The point of this is... it is rewarding players who have the time to spend hours upon hours a day in the game, while punishing those who have real life responsibilities.

I work 40 hour weeks. I fully understand that sometimes we don't have as much opportunity as those who can play all day every day. What I am saying is if you dedicate a few hours after work or some hours over the weekend to the game you won't be punished. If all you can manage is an hour a week then why should you make as much as those who have been working much longer?

Nobody is being punished. Everyone has the same rules. If anything the long hours player is disadvantaged. They put in 30 hours, they lose 15. You put in 10, you only lose 5

How did you come to that?

Someone who has all day/ week to play, can invest all that time in getting to Rating 5. Earning themselves 50 million credits a week for the time they invested.
Someone who doesn't have the luxury of playing video games all day, every day will not get to Rating 5. Even Rating 4.

The amount of credits required far outweighs what you get in return, if you don't hit that 50 million mark.

What is it that you are spending so much money on when gaining merits?

In which case why not be content with rating 2 or 3 and make income outside of powerplay via the usual means. I don't see why there has to be so much focus on just the one activity.
