Don't expect a 50 million CR a week bonus to be easy to get

Somemay be able to religously bang out the merits required to stay afloat in T5... But im not one of them. I dont see those people doing it very long either before getting completely burned out. Ive said it before and ill say it again,"powerplay added grind, not gameplay".

you definitely right! than i don't play pp anymore. it is completely waste of time. Rating 3 is enough for pp. Ty for answers and saved my time.

Nope, in that case it would be 2500 merits per week to KEEP Rank 5 but you would get no monetary reward per week.

No, it's 10,000/1.875 = 5334 merits per week to KEEP rank 5. Which would cost you 53,340,000 if you fast-tracked the whole lot. The only way to make money with PP is to get a decent portion of those merits "for free". I have a PC here at work and I collect 500 merits during the day for free. Then I collect a few more in a AM and PM before/after work for free and fast track the rest. So far I have managed to get a little over half my merits "for free" so I will make ~25mil in profit. This takes me very little active game time, so I spend the rest of my time making at least 5mil to cover the fast-tracking cost for that day, and then doing whatever I want.

Sorry, I though he asked me about the example I added of a different rank and merit system.

That seems like a lot of messing about for a mere 25M. I mean, that's like... What, three hours of trading?

Oh.. maybe he did.

No, it's 30 mins + clicking + hunting. It is 15mins for each round trip of 500 tonnes, plus time to click etc (to unload 500 tonnes is 30seconds), plus the time it takes me to bounty hunt for 5mil (which is the fun part anyway so not really an issue).

How many hours trading would it take to get 25mil? I think it's about 4-5?

Oh, OK, I don't think I really understand the mechanics of PP. I thought you meant you had to poke at it on and off all day long every day.

25M is about 16 round trips for me, however long that takes. I'd think three or less hours.

I do, but that's 10-20 sec each time and not really a bother. But, you're right I do have to do at least 5 days of this. So that is a total time of 30mins+clicking * 5 days (I am excluding the bounty hunting cos that's the fun part I would be doing anyway) which is 2hours 30mins + clicking. But, the real time does include the bounty hunting because without that I would not be able to sustain this. So, we have to add 5 hours to this giving us 7hours 30mins total, for 25M.

I could ditch the power play and make 5-6M/hr just bounty hunting. In that case 25M would take me 5 hours, which is about how long I bounty hunt anyway :p

If you can make 25M in 3 hours then you have a 8M cr/hr route which is pretty damn impressive. That's a round trip time of 11m 15sec with a profit per trip of 1,562,500. What ship are you flying? T-9?

I am about to start trading with a wing and I would hope to be able to make that much :)

Anaconda. Prices vary, but it's usually around 900KCR profit one way and 600KCR on the way back, stations are 6LS and 23LS away, two hops between systems. Your round trip time estimate seems about right.

I'll absolutely admit that I'm not committed to grinding this out non-stop - that 25M would probably take me longer, since I'd be reading the forum and doing family things or whatever at the same time. :)

That makes sense. Your post crossed with my edit BTW. :)

i found this in reddit "Merits now a non-decaying, spendable currency"
"
No Rating (or at least a non-decaying one that doesn't matter on a practical level)"

Some people are upset about the rank system being to hard to get.

First of all 50% rollover every week and doing multiple tasks will get you powerplay points quicker.

Someone who doesn't play often WILL NOT get to rank 5, that's how it has to be, only the most hardcore players will get rank 5.

They ARE NOT going to pay you a bonus equivalent to a new python every week if you just an average player.

Ranks 1-3 will be for average players and they are relatively simple to get over the course of a month.
I agree that players should be rewarded for what they turn in. If you can find a way to do it faster then do that, however I don't like the use of the terms hardcore and average when referring to players. Typically those terms reflect acumen. What OP is referring to is spending an exorbitant amount of time in the game, not necessarily being good at it.

Some folks have day jobs and can not spend as much time camping at a station to pick up leaflets or farming a conflict zone for weeks on end.

It's no different than any reward system in this game however. If you are a trader and you spend all day in the game, you are most likely going to make the most amount of money. The same goes with exploring, bounty hunting, pirating, smuggling and just about everything else you can imagine.
