Docking my ship is one thing I find pretty fun while piloting in the OR. I'm not sure a DC is something I would EVER use. Why do people use these?
Well for a start, try standing on the bridge of your Anaconda in VR while it's autodocking, and then get back to me

It's just choice dude, I find it incredibly amusing that many can't seem to grasp that here. If people want to talk about automatation, they should probably start looking at Flight Assist, that mode is basically CWS, an autopilot

You seem to be confused. I am fully aware that it is a choice, and that people can choose to use it. My question was why? Is it because they don't like to land their ship? is the DC faster at doing it? Don't take things so personally. Relax.

I say give us a few purchasing options a lousy slow cheap one and a good expensive one.
The only thing that would make me want to equip and use a docking computer is if they would land consistently faster and more secure than I do it.
Haha, dude I'm not taking anything personally. I just find it amusing when people go on about how the docking computer is such a bad thing.. I gave you a few reasons why I use it at times, if you read the whole topic you will find other reasons people use it. In fact, just type 'docking computer' into the search function and read the many comments.
To answer your question, it's not faster, unless someone is very bad at docking. Am sure many people don't like to land there ships ,so they choose the DC. I would say an equal amount or more love flying these ships, but like to switch the computer on every now and then.
Really, I just don't get what the big deal is, and why someone people ask 'why do you use it??' With FA ON You can learn to dock a ship in your sleep, no real challenge involved. So it leaves me a bit confused as to why the DC is considered easy mode with the crowd here.
