Horizons Don’t get mining...

I watched a vid or two, and kitted out a shiny new Anaconda named the “Ursula Miner” to try the new mining features.

I found several pristine rings outside of the bubble and probed the rings, bringing up different “hotspots”.

But even after using the wave scanner to find “hot” rocks, they don’t yield any of the promised goodies advertised by the “hotspot”. Moreover only two rocks had fissures after scanning over 100 asteroids in different locations.

Seeing people making gajillions of credits, I’m obviously doing something wrong, so any help would be appreciated.

I believe these folks making the big credits are hitting asteroid clusters, not rings, as the drop rate is greater in these sites. If it was patched, I dont know.

Do not see anything wrong in what you tried, similar to myself, get away from the crowded systems to avoid over mining, found about twenty crack-able asteroids with only around 400 limpets (very, very uncommon) according to the vids showing mining the scanner only makes cored asteroids show bright yellow so why do a very low percentage of these actually have a core? entered Void opal hotspot, spent four hours and didn't see even one asteroid that contained them (still managed to make around four million in two days tho (oh wait I could make that in ten minutes). Despite the improvement to mining that this update has made it is still, sadly, Extremely boring and will only be a novelty for me personally as it just isn't enjoyable in it's present form.

I made a shiny Python Mining ship :) ( i didnt like the cutter and conda ) because once you blow up asteroids its harder to maneuver around them to get the extra goodness.

im making about 150-200M a run ( thats 1-2hours ). ( HELLO!!! )

here's a couple tips:

go on EDDB.IO and find a Pristine Icy Ring that has Void Opals!!

only stop for Asteroids that can be used for deep core mining!!!

Find a Station that sells HIGH. the station im selling them are paying 1.6M PER Void opal!!!!! ( the station is about 6 jumps in my python 20ly jump fully loaded from my hunting ground . )

here is a tutorial on how to find the BEST Asteroids, honestly im so use to it now that i dont even send out prospecting limpets most of the time because only 2-3 types will actually have Fissures for deep core mining!!
I remember when i started id use like 50 Limpets to find one.. now i have a 80% find rate! ( the method is not perfect! )

basically with my Engineered Thrusts i can boost to 500. So i just boost in a strait line ( more or less ) while scanning until i find one of the Deep core asteroids ( see link bellow ) so i normally find a deep core with in 5-10min MAX . making about 20 Void opals per asteroid at 1.6Million each .. do the math :) here ill do it 20x1.6 = 32M every 15 min ( extra 5 min is the time it takes to mine it ) thats 128m/hour

Good Luck CMDR! o7

PS: i LOOVE mining now!!! it almost feels Like SOTHIS back int he day except im having fun making BILLIONS!!! instead of just board hoping. a good Trick as well is to have 2 monitors and watch NETFLIX ;)

PLS REP IF I MADE YOU A BILLIONAIRE!~ hahaha
