Ships don't like

This Diamond back is unfortunatly a No Go!.There was already a scout in the form of the Asp..The diamond I would have liked to see it as a Longer Distance Assasin ship...

Given the name and stats (not a beta-tester), the role of Scout seems to fit it aptly. It's a light, fast attack craft that can recon ahead of the main force. About the only thing that it will have tough time outrunning is a Cobra or Viper. The Asp is really a medium attack craft that has better armor, more weapons, and shields than the Scout which the Asp suffers for a bit in maneuverability. They can do the same role, but an Asp costs much more to the player when it goes boom. Which from my experience when trying to outfit an Asp for CZ's happened fairly regularly.

And some in the forum would have liked a 1000LY ship with 15 huge hardpoints and a 150T ship weight.

All im saying here is just because its not what you wanted doesn't mean its a bad ship. Also considering the ASP costs 6mil compared with the 600k for the scout (10% cost) I'd say it can't really outperform it...

Lovely little ship, really enjoying it. Hardpoint placements amazing so much fun with fixed weapons, looks brilliant, jump range is icing on the cake.

This... I'm confused by your post, either you knew this whilst playing beta, or you couldn't really comment as at the time you posted v1.3 was still being rolled-out...

Really... any-hooo... I played this fab lil ship for most of my time in beta and my first job, now PP is live, is to head into space, find one, buy one.

Oh... it's fast, hugly manoeuvrable, great in a close-in dog fight, just enough hold space and fire-power for picking up a decent variety of missions - this has already become my second favourite ship, after the Cobra.

Look, to put into context, there was only one ship that put a grin on my face every single time I got into it, and pulled out of dock. Well, now there are two.

Lastly... each to their own of course, I've really struggled to warm to the Asp - so 'go figure'.

the scout is a viper with better speed/jump range for 550k

the explorer is the perfect hybrid combat/explorer before you can get your hands on an ASP for 1.5 million

i think these ships are very good and well placed in the ship ladder

It's better sticking with the Cobra and making a few million credits an hour trading rare items. I picked up a DbS and kitted it out for a bit of combat and exploration "just because." http://www.edshipyard.com/#/L=70h,5QR5QR5Rr5Rr3wA,2-6Q6Q6Q3m4s3m6k,7Pc4zM2UI2jw

I would like if this ship were more viable, of course. Top tier ships not withstanding, after a player can afford a Cobra and starts making some real credits, the cost of ships and outfitting them becomes much less relevant, so something in this price range with lackluster capabilities isn't really needed.

FD should buff these new ships a little to make them more viable options.
