Don't show docking hologram on take off

When taking off from a dock, it's not possible to know the positions of other ships around you, because the radar is replaced by the docking hologram. There could be someone flying directly behind and above you. Or a more sinister example, a commander could be there behind you with hardpoints deployed or ready to ram, looking for other commanders to kill. Currently, you need to get some distance from the docking pad in order for that hologram to disappear, by which point it might already be too late.

It would be nice if that hologram was disabled completely during take off. It doesn't serve any purpose as far as I can tell. It's only useful for landing.

Agreed! Offer an option on the system panel to choose.

ps: I believe this has been asked for before... But like most of these suggestions I suspect it just got buried and forgotten :(

Agreed ... unless you 're allowed to re-land in the time you are expected to exit ?
Then its actually useful otherwise not.

I am pretty sure you have to clear the station before being able to request docking again. I am not 100% sure how this works with outposts, if you need to move a certain distance away to request a re-dock, but I believe you need to at least clear the docking hologram to avoid trespassing before being able to request a re-dock.

If the above is true, then yes, the docking hologram is useless and should be removed on take offs.

Even if not, it still should be disabled and only re-enabled *if* you request docking again.
