Don't time the release of Horizons with Fallout 4

While i play elite daily...

DONT

coincide any part of horizons with the release of fallout 4....im afraid you just wont win this one.

Make the meetings now if it does and knock it back by atleast a month as its going to be bad enough with trying to remember the missus' name and the little people that fell out of her when im done let alone learning how to use my elite controls once more.

Yeah well, I plan to fly about in space in ED, kill stuff, land on a nice planet, then switch to FO4, kill stuff, then switch back to ED for take off. Thanks FD and Bethesda!

I've played and completed all versions of Fallout post Fallout 3 and never played them again. Elite is a game for me that has no end and if Horizons and Fallout are released the same day, some people might choose Fallout over ED but eventually buy ED: Horizons.

That's what I've been doing recently, except with Skyrim. Do some dungeon crawls, have a beer, hop on the spaceship.

Edit: Oh I see, you're planning on using FO4 as the "FPS mode" for ED. Clever :)

This is me also really. I'll be back, even being unfortunate enough to use amd i've still pre-ordered horizons. The break just makes me come back happier.

(Also for those who've taken it too seriously, im sorry your friday morning has started off this bad).

You sound like someone who hasn't tried modding the game. I definitely recommend it - Bethesda makes their games very moddable, and there a lot of talented modders out there. Go to nexusmods.com and take a look.

Nothing beats skyrim more than walking through a forest of palm tree's while its snowing, a mudcrab in a pink bra following you while you take down flying thomas the tank engines, shoot arrows that go "pew" each time you let one go and having a telly tubby as a companion.

Is the fact that you can even do that not amazing though? (in case anyone doesn't know, he's not kidding - I know most of the mods he's referring to)

You'll almost always find another big game coming out at the same time, unless you release your game in the middle of summer, but there's a reason publishers don't do that.

ED will do fine, it will sell during the whole year given the nature of the expansion (being rather a whole year of expansions). It's a rather niche game, so the fans will be there.

I presonaly don't care about new fallout. I love first two, but third was super boring for me and I not interested in new one.

Fallout's a first-person shooter, right?

Not everyone enjoys those.

It's a first person sci-fi / fantasy game. Fallout in particular is interesting in that respect because for combat it uses a system called VATS that's basically turn-based combat. When a fight starts, the action freezes and you get to pick what you're going to shoot at (head, torso, etc) and your chances of hitting and number of shots are based on your character's stats. You can also shoot from the hip like in a regular FPS, but compared to VATS you're going to miss a lot. At least that's how it was in FO3.

I can see Horizons being delayed to be honest. March 2016. Given we live in the era of Great Game Delays.

Not a peep about the beta we payed for, I would've expected at the very least 3-4 months of paid beta testing.

I really doubt it was the plan to take this long to release CQC, and by that I doubt the initial plan was to release 1.5 at the same time as the expansion-- which means it isn't really 1.5 is it? It's part of 2.0, there is no 1.5 patch.

Having both launch on the same day might actually help with spreading the downloads and taking some pressure off the servers for both games.

I love Fallout! I'm looking forward to Fallout 4 and I know it will be great! I'll play both games, but I don't know, maybe I'm getting old, I'm MUCH MORE excited about Horizons! I already said it, it's my personal "holy grale" this year!
