Dormant Bounty Help!

Ok, looks like I have a Dormant Bounty.
It's 2500 CR and hve 6D 23H time remaining.
How do I pay this?
I went back to the station in BD+41 1865 and was granted to dock, so I started to autodock, but half way thought the door I was attacked by authority ships and destroyed.
What do I need to do!!

I lost 250000 CR to salvage my ship!!
Cash is tigh as it is as I need to save for an Asp.

You have to wait for the bounty to expire, then it becomes a fine and you can pay it off. You'll have to stay out of systems controlled by the dominant faction in BD+41 1865 until the expiry time. You're a wanted criminal I those systems with a kill on scan order.

Dormant means, that you won't get haunted actively by bounty hunters and that all vessels except (!) Security vessels will ignore you in that system.
But once you get scanned by security in the space of this faction, it will turn back into an active bounty.
Best is, as already mentioned by Metatheurgist, to stay out of range from that faction until the dormant bounty timed oht and to pay it off there or to pay it off in a low security system with interstellar contacts (+25% increase of credit amount)

Dormant bounty are a stupid feature to me. I'm guessing they are designed to keep people from doing missions and suiciding their ship.

But they really are just an another annoying feature especially for new players.

If you have a dormant bounty you can still operate in the system with the bounty but if you get scanned the bounty becomes active. The stations dont scan the security ships flying around the entrance scan you.

So if you want to still operate in that system you have to basically smuggle yourself into the station every time you land there to really avoid being scanned.

To do this you need to have a heatsink equipped on your ship.

As soon as you jump into the system when you are still out of docking range, line your ship up with the mailslot, move into range to request docking, then goto the system tab and active silent running. Turn off all unnecessary modules on your ship. This builds up heat on your ship quickly and also turns off your shields so thats why its important to line up with the slot so you can boost straight into the slot without bumping anything since your shields will be off and also why you need the heatsink since you pop it to keep from over heating.

Silent running and no heat basically cloaks you from radar that way the police dont see you on their radar as you fly into the slot so they wont scan you. Its the same way you smuggle illicit cargo into stations without getting caught.

If thats too hard just go do missions in another system til the dormant bounty becomes a fine.

Like I said I think dormant bounties are another fun sucking tedium of the game. Its like double penalizing you for dying.

Thanks!

I will try to stay away from that system. It's interesting that when you die, there is no way to access the previous save, and what ever missions are active get canceled creations more fines. Just got to be more couscous as I learned hard way trying to do bounty missions. Now I am doing passenger missions with a class A FSD, A QUICK in and out of systems with a 19Ly range.

Ok last night I noticed somthing, the Dormant Bounty is gone, I do not see any fines owed, do is this mean I owe nothing and can go back to that station no prob?

You should now be able to go back to the system you picked up the fine and pay it off.

This might help. It is a bit out of date.
