I play in the Mobius group preferring pve to combat and use trading/exploration/mission deliveries for my gameplan.The day after the patch I got caught out by the "bug" other players have reported which ended up with the security services destroying my Anaconda after I entered the station having gotten permission to land on dock 22 and which I found wasn't available on entry. Anyway I have a ticket in at FD in regards to this. However this led to my having a 500cr dormant bounty on my head in a nearby system which was a vital part of my trade run and as I have never had a bounty on me before I am unsure on what to do. I don't want to risk my Anaconda as my credits will soon disappear at 13 million a time rebuy. I am currently using my Cobra to trade until I hopefully get a refund from FD but is there anything I can do about this bounty in the meantime other than keep away from that system?.

thanks for the reply guys but I got an Email in regard to my support ticket with a positive result which repaid my losses and deleted the dormant bounty.

In future, check the new CONTACTS section and notice the new NPC brokers in there. Those folks can assist with paying off fines and bounties without having to physically travel to the issuing system (s). They take a cut of course, but it is definitely worth it most of the time. There is also the new SHADY CONTACT that I believe can be found in the Black Market sections. These guys will take care of fines and bounties the brokers can't or won't help you with.

I've only used them a few times now since the 2.2 release. They should be listed in the STARPORT SERVICES section at ANY Starport, Outpost or Planetary Base. The Shady Contacts are only available if there is a Black Market at that location, and they do not always show up there either.
I'm not sure if this new section is totally working right yet, since the behavior has been kind of unpredictable for me so far. I'm totally clean at the moment, so no way to test them any more.
I would definitely be interested in reading some input from other Commanders who have played with these a lot more than I have. One thing is for sure.... You don't want a bounty on your head in ED anymore! Ever since 2.1, the bounty hunters are ridiculous in the level of harrassment they can level on you even for something as trivial as a 200 CR fine turned bounty!

This actually existed right at the end of 2.1. I was chased from Sothis by a bounty hunter. He failed.
The thing I hate about them isn't the threat to my ship etc., its the annoyance of trying to do a Salvage Mission or something, and just as you are about to drop down into the mission objective, BOOM you get interdicted by a stupid bounty hunter! Even worse when you find one of those rare USS that contain hard to find Engineer Mats or something, cause obviously, if you submit to the interdiction or fail to evade, you just lost that rare USS opportunity forever!
You find them only in Lawless and Anarchy systems.
And it's not Contacts in your ship. What GG meant was Contacts in the station menu. Where you claim bounties, bonds and pay fines.
