Down to 1%!

So I was sitting at a Nav Beacon in Federation Space and was planning out my "route". I was looking at routes about 100 LY out, was doing this for quite a while. As soon as I clicked "Plot route", went back to my cockpit there was flashing red lights, something about "Engine failure" and my hull was at 1%. My shield was still full, but all my modules were down to 1% as well. I don't understand what happend, did my ships CPU overheat due to extensive route planning or something? Anyways, I flew back to station to repair and went on my new journey.

Did you accidentally hit the delete key? If so, it triggers silent running which traps all heat inside your vessel. Which can cause you to esplode.

2 things could of happened.

You said you were at a nav beacon.. you could of been attacked by a pirate.

Alternatively you could have been running silent, this builds up your heat.

Well anything could have happened.

Bit rubbish that you get no alert notifications when on the maps screens, you have to pick your moments to plot routes. =/
