Downgrading Horizon to Odyssey level to accommodate for Consoles.

I believe that ...

ED Odyssey is going to be released to Consoles. That is why they messed up old good Horizon, that's is why they downgraded Horizon and Planets look and that is why they changed Horizons Planetary Generation to this new y one. Odyssey must accommodate consoles capacity. Since Odyssey will be console game now and there is no Season pass all and any DLC will be priced. There will be NO more FREE DLCs.

am I right or what ?

I think there is an element of truth to this - the game (and most other games) are being wriiten with consoles in mind and using gamepads especially as the norm, this has been the case for awhile and tends to produce stuff I personally dislike like interactive "wheels" to select menu items.
This actually bothers me more than bugs in textures, frame rates or what have you as I haven't actually suffered from any bugs in Odyssey (yes really) - other than a temporary occasional drop to around 90-100fps after 1 hour of play (at 1440p) - which resets back to the "locked" 144 that I normally have after 5 mins or so . Likewise other than 1 tree that bent at a funny angle when i was driving past it, I played Cyberpunk at launch and had no problems with that either (also 1440p all ultra etc).
Bugs get fixed or you can squash them with way over the top hardware and internet connection (which is I assume why I have so little trouble), but design decisions you get stuck with - so by way of further example I play the original sniper elite & sniper elite2 (also the remastered version) but can't abide 3 or 4 in that series due to the "consoleification" that became evident in the later versions. They sure look pretty, but I can't stand playing them - Just Cause 4 is another example.
So yes, I do think that the game will be built to what the consoles can "manage" and not what gaming hardware can be pushed to, and it's a damn shame. But gaming has (sadly) become mainstream entertainment and will suffer accordingly.

I wouldn’t be surprised if in a couple of months we get a announcement that Odyssey will only be available on the new gen consoles.
Just look at top notch computers running rtx 3000 series cards and having a hard time, I find it hard to believe they can get Odyssey to run decent on older consoles.

If they did that for console, they failed, because it still run like trash, and the minimum is not good enough for cert, and can't release on console as is.

In principle the things meant to look better under Odyssey. All things considered right now I think there's more chance it won't make it on last gen consoles.

Consoles have standards that have to be met before a game can be released, so it may not be up to Frontier.
It won't be certified in this state. That's why it's not on console, there is no point in trying.

Entirely possible. Most likely delayed.

If that happens, it will be a :poop:storm of biblical proportions.

cough CP2077 cough
Does CP have performance issues on console ? I mean, regular one like EDO, and not "lag spikes at times". I don't have a console, so I don't know myself.

Right now, EDO run poorly, and have its minimum requirement too high for last gen consoles anyway.

AFAIK CP2077 ran well enough for it to be withdrawn from sale by Xbox and PS.

But was it related to ingame bugs or performance ?

Usually MS and sony only care about performance. And not breaking the machine with trash code.

bugs (tons of them), perfomance, the whole package.
I heard it was rough on console. But I suspect it was pulled because of performance more than bugs. MS and Sony are fine with buggy games, they don't want to damage their console, or make it work harder than it should. Or perhaps to make it look bad ? So they pull very poor performance games.

As is, edo wouldn't pass certs. The minimum requirement is too high to begin with.

Worked well enough for me on Xbox One X (Digital download on release). Crash to menu every few hours it always auto saved first unless in a mission. Other than that ran okay and seemed okay.
