Download Kickstarter Collection NOW !!

cheers , i wont hold my breath tho (last time i did that i passed out before the 'this wont take a second' shop assistant came back ;) ) , but am kinda hoping you ninja me on this :)

Ok just did it 3 times to confirm..

Firstly you must be docked to save
Then its.... " Right shift + @ " You may have to do it a few times to skip through screens till you get to the save / load page

Select "Save Commander"
Enter your name
Hit Return and your given your competition number..

when it asks Which Drive ..Just select "C"

But you can only do this if you install the Kickstarter collection

Back in the day they did not allow for other Drives and you cant save to the DVD obviously..

After this you can Load Commander on starting the game

Hope your still about I was back within 10 mins.....Last Ninja Style ;)

thankyou very very much.

didnt consider it might not be using logical drives .
a couple of thoughts 1) is it possible to use a joystick ? i saw an option for one but never played with it. 2) are there any 'game keys' documents? 3) should i stop asking you questions as you have done so much already

Elite Forever is my Website..
I created all the game compilations and Launchers for it as well ;)

You did, as I think that's nice bundle of games that I would still money to own.
I went ahead and downloaded the original C64 - Elite. The one you never included in the application you made and would like to know how you fire missiles once they are targeted and how to increase speed/throttle. I swear I pressed nearly other button to find this but couldn't.

I also downloaded the Russian made version of Elite - Frontier - Three - First Encounters Direct 3D which seems to be the best version I have seen so far. I had originally downloaded another reverse engineered version of this particular game and found that while it seemed similar. There was some hard to ignore errors in the introduction sequence where the scale of the space ship and the planet make them appear to be the same size or close to it as part of spaceship passes through the planet. I believe this is called clipping.

This isn't it.....

Elite - Frontier - Three - First Encounters Direct 3D version

It's the version from your website.

There was also a fault with the onscreen interface in that the buttons were missing. As they had two version of this game. I downloaded the other one and it was exactly same except the buttons on the onscreen interface were now present, but didn't work. In your version the on screen interface all the buttons can be seen and they appear to all work. After getting permission to launch and finding the ignition I rose up into the air and didn't know what to do beyond that. So I did web search for the keyboard commands and a tutorial and found these.....

Frontier First Encounters FAQ

After I downloaded the manual. I will plan to give it more detailed look a little later.

@Commander Mick

The links are Awsome thanks
I must somehow incorporate all that info to my FFED3D launcher download.
And I will add credit for you for supplying them

Thanks, I guess you could give me credit for merely linking them to this page and those other people credit for making them.

I'm off to read the FFEMANUAL.

found a Joystick mapper that works with the bbc virsion.

talking of the bbc version , what version is that ???? it apears to be the first relese (ie has the T-shirt compatition code) mixed with the tape virsion (ie mining lasers) but there are differances from both. :S i havent used an energy bomb yet so it could be the master virsion . . . tho why the t-shirt code.

anyway , question time (you knew it was comming lol) , how do i stop the kickstart over wrighting (by reinstalling) the files and with that losing the save ?

Ok not sure what version of Elite it is ....I Got the image file off Ian Bells site I think ?

Now to your Question....Are you ready :)

Go To "C" / Program Files / Kickstarter Collection / Autoplay / Games / Elite BBC / UserData / Tapes /
and you will see your save called mysave.uef or whatever you called it....

Copy that somewhere safe.... Reinstall the collection....and copy it back..

Hope that helps
