General / Off-Topic Dr. Who - Jodie Whittaker - What did YOU think?

Well, the title says it all tbh.
I'm curious what those who've seen it thought of the Dr. Who Christmas special and Whittaker's appearance.
I personally thought it was one of the best Christmas episodes we've had. David Bradley and his un-PC comments was a delight.
As for Jodie, well, she came in with a bang that much is true. And using her nature Yorkshire accent (makes you wonder why Tennant played it English?).
Thoughts, CMDRs?

I don't ever watch Doctor Who, so I guess I'm a bad judge, but...

It was okay? The episode, I mean. Quite moving, and seemed less rickety than I remember the Beeb being with the show. I gather the doc used, or adapted, a Bertrand Russell line? If so, bonus points to the writers.

Whitaker barely counted as a cameo so far. I'll try to watch the next episode which will be her first real showing. Maybe some defensive fanboys will spam someone's twitter feed, so maybe someone involved in the show should baton down the hatches for that. The meta commentary on the reaction to the casting news (and the culture clash between eras) was a bit eye-roll worthy, but family Christmas fare isn't really the time for subtly.

high heels and a tight dress - bend over that kitchen marble work place .

I wasn't a big fan of the episode, but I've seen enough Dr Who episodes that I've really enjoyed, to keep watching for the roses amongst the... less well-written efforts
