Dr Wu DLC is it worth it?

Does Dr Wu add anything to the base game? I don't really care about hybrids and I try to avoid them as much as possible. So the question does this add something to the game other than hybrid dinosaurs?

It does add the hybrids yes, but the theme of the DLC is more about genetics. I think it’s absolutely worth it for all the genes it unlocks. You can manipulate population sizes to have up to 4 Rex’s or 6 Sauropeltas for example if I’m not mistaken. You can also change what habitats they need whether it be reducing general habitat requirements or increasing grassland needs over forest needs. And it does add the new maps, one of which is fairly spacious, the other is quite cramped. If more genome customization is what you like I’d pick it up.

Personally I haven't bought the Dr. Wu DLC exactly for the reason that it contains hybrids. So I haven't played it, but as I understand it, the hybrids are linked to the missions on the second island. And that the first island does not have hybrids. Though again, I haven't played it so I could be mistaken.

The DLC adds 2 new maps with missions.
3 hybrids
2 normal dinosaurs: the hadrosaur Olorotitan and the small carnivore Troodon (which is venomous in the game).
new gene options to tweak population and social limits
new building: large storm defence station.

The new hybrids are only unlocked when doing the missions on the new Isla Tacaño map, and you don’t have to do them if you don’t want to; you can still build a park however you want to build it. All of the new features (e.g. New genetic modifications, and new building upgrades) are unlocked via increasing reputation with the Hammond Foundation's divisions, or by researching them in the Research Centre.

The two new “natural” dinosaurs are unlocked by doing the missions on the new Isla Muerta map. However, if you want to get all of the new genetic modifications and to use all of the new features from The Secrets of Dr. Wu in Challenge Mode, you will have to complete all of the missions on the Isla Tacaño Research Facility map, which does involve creating hybrids.

Even if you don’t like the hybrids, The Secrets of Dr. Wu offer a lot of new features to Jurassic World Evolution that shouldn’t be missed out.

You also get new missions with a 10 hour content and also the indominus rex camouflage ability. Well the missions have great content and are absolutely worth the money.

The new genes and the 2 new dinosaurs make it worth it. I have it though I haven't gotten to it yet. I haven't had much time for games lately.

As a completely unbiased and impartial source I can totally say yes :p

Seriously though, you get a lot of good stuff in Jurassic World Evolution: Secrets of Dr. Wu. You get:
  • A new narrative storyline voiced by Dr. Wu (BD Wong)
  • New areas to build, research and give into the machinations of unregulated genetic science
  • 5 new dinosaurs (Including 3 hybrids)
  • New research
  • New upgrades for buildings and dinosaurs (Including comfort genes and the Indominus camouflage gene)
  • A new Advanced Storm Defence building

It's should give you plenty of additional gameplay :)

I want to buy the DLCs.

But in the current state of the game, i will not pay the whole price. For my oppinion its to less management and too much graphic and dino catwalk. I need no management like Planet Coaster... but a some economics and greater problems with maintance, etc whould be nice. Currently there are only 2 costs: electricity and employees in the shops. But no ticketprice, no costs for employees in science, marceting or security. No maintaince for cleanliness or costs for the procuts i sell in shops or restaurants... noting. It is unrealistic that a parc with 15.000 thousand guests at a time, over hundred dinos, dozens shops (5star-island) has a return on sales of over 90% (profit/sales). 5-10% is ok, 30% is really good, but 90% is impossible.

So my question is: Do you know, when the DLCs will be have a discount?

^ This. Except this list says there's 5 new dinosaurs. That's not correct. There's 2 new dinosaurs and 3 hybrids (not dinosaurs in my opinion); however, the content is completely worth it. Even if you don't like hybrids (like myself) everything else in the list above adds great value. Also, for a challenge mode player (like myself) it adds two new dino skins.
