I had a thought. I had to sit down soon afterwards as my head started to hurt but I'm okay now. How about we approach Frontier (or an adult does) and ask them to put the winning Drabble each week into the Newsletter? That should encourage folks to write, read and vote.

Lol they would never post mine if i won :D........

WOW! That's a blinder of a thought that one. Most of my thoughts are usually like... 'why have I sat down? wasn't I going to make a cuppa' or when it comes to drabble writing its 'aaargh I've edited away all reference to anything remotely resembling this weeks topic <re-edit re-edit re-edit>'

Great idea though Philip. I propose that the winner of this week's drabble contest should have the honour of contacting the powers that be and offering them the chance to immortalise the weekly winning drabble. We already keep within the bounds of deceny (just) and of course all drabbles are Elite related so I can't see there being problems of relevancy. In fact as far as decency goes I'm sure they've included a video once in the past with some very questionable and fruity commentary.

To the winner  please remember to wear the winner's crown when contacting FD - just don't forget to take it off if posing for any promotional photographs. :D

Still time to vote people - pick your best three from the list on page 1 and hit the <vote now> button!

No need to worry. We've got a radio edit version of yours all ready to go...

14 - Listeri69 - Time for the G1....

censored3.jpg its G1 racing season again and Welcome to the Maia GP lots for the censored3.jpg to contend with here at this out of the way grand prix, a few black censored3.jpg in the region. Qualifying was interesting yesterday when Ryde censored3.jpg Arden censored3.jpg got censored3.jpg off on his qualifying lap this left a nice censored3.jpg for Bud censored3.jpg in censored3.jpg and he took full advantage. yes the two pilots from censored3.jpg with a huge gap over the rest of the field and censored3.jpg really is looking censored3.jpg this season. It’s been many years since we’ve seen censored3.jpg this fluid.

I first heard about the Drabbles through the newsletter, so if you're okay with getting people of my caliber ;) then go for it!

;) = open season declared for comebacks, insults, and the like. :p

There's a few moments left. There's still plenty of time for everyone to rush onto this thread and vote for their favourite Drabble... which of course should be mine.

Come on! Get to it!

All I needed was another 12 votes in the two remaining minutes and you lot out there couldn't do that little thing for me <disappointed sigh>.

Congratulations Philip. A resounding victory considering the size of the field as well :). I'll leave this imaginary paper crown on the table for you and let you take the stage for your bows and to announce the next topic for Drabble contest number 86.

It's not imaginary!

...Philip Couts!

You mean there's been a real crown all along and I've been wondering about with this imaginary one on my head <facepalm>.

Well that was really quite unexpected. Thanks to everyone who voted (and not just for me) and took part. I had to think for a while because there have been so many topics in the past but I think I've come up with one that hasn't been done in the past. So I'll post this on the main drabble thread as well but to give you a 30 second head start the topic will be:
.
Smugglers
.
Make of it what you will and good luck to all.

Congratulations Philip! A strong return you made there.

Well done to everyone else, especially the nine of us who tied for last place ;)
May we all be lucky enough to find a treasure of a drabble and smuggle it on board before the squeaky clean Fed machine scans us.

I'll take up the newsletter idea with Edward Lewis when he gets back from America (there is some sort of games show in Texas this week)....or maybe Erik could make the trip and talk to Ed in person? (mention my name - its sure to get his attention :))

Thanks Ian, I think even if they could give the thread a wee bump now and again to remind people that it's still alive and kicking and encourage them to have a read and vote it would be helpful. Of course having the winning Drabble in it would add a little more Kudos to the paper crown of victory and given that it's unlikely I will ever win again it would be great if they started putting the winning Drabble in this week.....:p

Oh, I forgot to vote. I did say I wasn't around much.
2 votes, I think that is a career high for me, I shall do a mini victory dance. Well done Phillip
