Dragon's Dogma Dark Arisen

With the announcement of a remaster of Dragon's Dogma DA for PS4 / XBox One, I thought it a good time to start a thread for this niche and yet under-appreciated game. Perhaps similar to ED, it's a game that in some ways felt shallow, and yet there is something about it that draws me back like few other games. The news of this game being remastered excites almost as much as ED coming to PS4! Perhaps some of this excitement is nostalgia. Having played the same story a dozen times on my PS3, it may be less magical the 13th time, even in high-def. However, I do miss my pawns so, and I never get bored taking down a high-level boss. Unlike Skyrim Remastered, this game is definitely on my buy list!

Played the original on the Xbone 360. Sold that, so when it was released on the PC through Steam with the DLC included I snapped it up instantly. Game really clicked with me, and can be right hard if you take steps to make it so. The pwn system is something that sets it apart from other JRPG's. I think I have about 300hrs in it on Steam...

I killed everything in the DLC including Death and the endboss, should really play it a bit more as my main chr is lvl 198/200 (just for the achievement).

Real ending comes at end of NG+

Speedran the main game in about 34 mins...

N'joi :)

I'm quite fond of the pawn system. There were times when the AI was brilliant, and others when I would grab my pawn over my shoulder, walk to nearest cliff, and "off you go!" Sometimes the incessant chatter would get on my nerves, but when I would play solo for the assassin buffs, I found myself missing their company. I say "they" but often it was just "her" since you would get more XP with just the main pawn.

Someone at FDev needs to play this game. I would love, love, love the equivalent of DD's pawns for NPC multicrew. Call them "androids" instead of pawns. I'll even listen to their never-ending chatter. Space can get mighty lonely, after all!
