I recall having faint memories of a vectorised space simulator, in which I managed to mash my Cobra against the sides of the narrow openings of a spinning space station.
Much frustration, much fun. Since I've looked for that kind of game, without level-ups, or quests, I played the 2D game EV and its subsequent sequels, I played Tie Fighter but there were too many "quests", I couldn't just fart around the universe and do commerce/piracy/courier service/exploration as I saw fit.
So I eventually just stopped playing computer games and drew stuff for a living - now, suddenly, 30 years after I scratched the inner hull of a rotating city in space, I saw that my
first gaming joy had returned - though this time in much more than simple vectors.
Typically me though, far, far too late to participate in the alpha, beta and gamma phases - and I shall have to wait a while longer for the game to fill my nights, as it's not yet ready for Macs. I did however spark my urge to draw stuff - so I drew space ships.
