Noticed that drin grass no longer counts as a plant -- it shows up the plant menu but doesn't affect coverage, can be placed in the habitats of animals which it shares no biome with at no penalty, and when clicked on displays neither coverage nor its biomes. I'm not complaining, it's great to be able to use it as decoration without worrying about coverage, but I'm wondering -- is this intentional? Or is it a glitch?

Oh, they can lie in it -- it's not a change in hitbox, just that it no longer registers as habitat coverage when clicking an animal (an animal with a habitat covered 100% in drin grass would presumably not detect any plants).
I can remember noticing this a few months back already, but never thought much of it back then. I initially thought it might have been intentional, because people were so happy to finally have another grass variation when the Africa DLC/update came out. But I haven't really used the drin grass since then, because there was this weird flickering bug with the grass that made it really uncomfortable to look at. That seems to have been fixed now though.
I just tried to fill my entire Okapi habitat with the grass, covering every square inch. Still, the plants coverage in the welfare tab only registers as 43% due to some of the trees I have there, and the grass is also not listed in the plants section for the animal. So, since it's such a generic item, I assume it might have been changed to ensure that it can be used anywhere! Wondering if that was mentioned in any patch notes, because I hope they will not change that back again.

Even if it's a bug and not intentional, I really really hope they keep it that way. This grass is wonderful as you can use it everywhere for every animal and make the habitat more lush even if the animal don't want lots of foliage in the habitat
