Does anyone else find that it's really, really tricky to dock quickly and efficiently if they're had even the slightest bit of alcohol? I had ONE glass of wine and suddenly found my usual fluid, swopping flying style deserted me and I was struggling not to plant the type-6 whilst docking it and bumping other pilots when entering a station & also failing to see people coming in supercruise and finding evading interdictions tougher! I've also noticed I'm more inclined to take silly risks (boosting away from outposts, for example) after a snifter.

Seriously. If I had the slightest inclination to drive home after a glass of wine, I'd lose it instantly after playing this game because it's amazing how much even a very moderate dose of alcohol screws up my piloting ability. I'm not talking about drunk, I'm talking about one moderate glass of wine with food - not even over the limit for driving. In fact it makes me wonder if the drink-drive limit is too high!

I think I understand why alcohol is illegal in so many stations!

Anyone else noticed this? - Or am I just a lightweight?

I'm a swimmer, usually 1.5-2 miles per day. Thus, I drink a lot of water. But, the best flying (not) is after a swim, while dehydrated and drinking a glass of red wine. This also works after a 5 mile run!

but, talk about instant buzz and a lot of "Hold my beer and watch this" mentality going on :)

its awesome on a 430 m/s Clipper in a RES. ramming is so much fun, if I can figure out which target :)

As bad if not worse is 'sleep' flying. If you push on too long you'll find you start missing the exit points in supercruise and then docking becomes more difficult and eventually you'll wake up caught in the toast rack or just before you crash.

Yeah same problem. Did it quite a lot. Half a litre of Voddy usually did the trick. Most of the time I'd rage quit and blame the game (and/or the postman depending on the time of day), then come on these forums looking for a place to share my mixture of anger, rudeness and new found comedy skills. All of this was usually responded to at the time with what I thought were totally unjustified corrections and were obviously personal attacks. On waking up to a facebook page with a post written up in capital letters I'm not as sure as I was before my unplanned sleep.

Then I stopped drinking.

I'm still a crap pilot, but I smile a lot more these days ;)
