Once docking after some whisky-mining I swear there were a few tons of slaves in my cargo hold. I have no recollection of how they got there.
Maybe I mined out an orphanage.
After a few rums I can quite easily sweep into the docking bay at speed and land with grace.
But asking for permission to do that... yeah, that's where drink makes me a bit forgetful...

THIS! ^^ This is exactly how I landed.... several times.... but it was the cider to blame.
Occasionally i had a beer after a hard working day,
but i hadn't drunk everytime i crashed.
Yet i always had some coffee, maybe coffee is even worse than beer regarding docking?
It seems the ship could use some coffee shots aswell,
to cut the "yawn" short and have a "yaw-rate" again?

Now that I think about it... I never actually crashed when drunk.... I always bumped into something... grill, entrance, lamp post, building, big pokey tower at the back... you name it. But made out with shields still on and landed... eventually. Then looked around nervously, raised a glass and said "THAT'S tha' way to do it!"
On coffee however.... grr, go go go go, this is far too slow, go faster, gogogo, boost... oh.

I've done similar in Orbiter. A balance somewhere between "what if I screw up?" and "screw it all".

That makes complete sense when I imagine a Scot saying it.
Bleh you must be flying the wrong ship. Drunk docking is more fun in a clipper stripped down to d3 shields so you can cram in more gold. Let's see your shields last then !
Nothing most Scots says makes any sense, to anyone outside Scotland; unless you are also drunk and then it becomes more of a sign/body language thing!
