Drive off and won't turn on. Anyone else had this?

I just had a very frustrating moment in my ship, after doing a few bits with Quent, with a hold half-full of mat-commodities.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Went to launch.
No response from x-box controller.
Desperately manipulate controller.

Panic. Log out.
Restart.
Switch to another controller and re-sync.
No response. Pad loitering warning gained as the game has started me on the pad.

Log to menu.
Attempt a training mission to see if controller works.
Controller works.

Log back in.
Note that under 'modules' my drive is OFF! :O
Try to turn on.
Unable to do so, using wither the controller or tabbing with keyboard.
Absolutely unable to turn on the drive. I can turn off other things and turn them back on again, but not my drive.
It is totally unresponsive.

Select a different system on navigation screen and attempted to lock and jump
Messages in top right of screen start telling me that my drive is coming online!
Drive boots.
Ship moves.
Gunned down for loitering.

:/

Modules take some time to boot up if they're disabled due to insufficient power, and use SYS capacitor. Make sure you have some pips in SYS and set your module priority appropriately.

we had that thread some time ago, on these forums. if your power priorities are right, you might suffer a bug, where your ship behaves on an engineer base like if landed on surface. e.g.: you have to use vertical thrusters to turn on drives!

I had enough power. I had modified both my distributor and power plant, but had discarded all changes (level 1 and 2) because they were inferior and I was ust doing them to earn Engineer reputation.

Max power usage was 101%, with the Fuel scoop and cargo scoop at priority 5. Drive was priority 1.

There was no system damage.

Thanks.

Worth raising a bug report?
I don't mind the insurance cost, it's the 100ish tons of assorted engineering commodities which burns!

definetly. file a ticket a support.frontier.co.uk

I realize its a little late to try but if it ever happens to you again, try turning flight assist off. That should detach you from the pad and logging out and back in would throw you outside.
I think.

If your capacitor was empty and you had no pips in engines then I can see this happening. Just another thought to add to the pile.

Just use your 'up' thrusters in the same way you would after landing on a planet's surface ie. press and hold until your engines fire up. Simples.

Ouranos is right. The game bugs out sometimes and thinks you're landed on a planet still (at dock, even sometimes 30km from the surface I've had it happen on login). Use vertical thrusters and the drive reengages for lift off.

I've never bothered landing on a planet 'rough' so was not aware of the issue and have not experienced it before.

Slightly annoyed to say the least, given that I spent the last few days completing missions in order to accumulate a bunch of material commodities so I can do a bunch of upgrades, plus two days of mining to get the ores needed for engineer mods. :/

It was surprising, even I have experience on planetary landings, but once you realised it, it make good sense.
Still, not an intended feature.
