Anyone remember the episode of Star Trek Voyager where Tom Paris enters the Delta Flyer in to an intergalactic race?

There already is a thread TheMarshall, somewhere in the forums about an already existing galactic race....cannot remember it's name though, probably something like ''The Alien Gumball Rally''.

Buckyballer here, yeah there have been races before. Problem is now the route planner is so efficient I'm not sure how we'd do another one.

Maybe follow the same approach as orienteering instead, in that your next destination will be unknown until your told where to go at your current jump point?

Ah! Thanks for the posts folks. I would love to be part of something like that if it happens again. I would even help plan it if I thought I would be any use at all.

Another Buckyballer here. The route planner is now much more efficient, but you can still find routes that are faster by manually plotting them. Also, it's not all about route planning. When you can win or loose by a second or so, it's all about the time you can shave off in SC, fuel-scooping, landing etc. So another Buckyball is still do-able
