Dropped out of SC with nothing about

I was in Malina today and whilst in SC saw the proximity warning even though there was nothing near me (I had already scanned the area). Next thing I'm dropping out if SC. I had a look around - nothing at all close by, so I hit the FSD again only to drop out immediately upon entering SC. Once again, surveying and scanning my immediate vicinity showed nothing at all...

I'm at a loss as to why I couldn't get into Super Cruise from that point, only way out was to FSD to a neighbouring system.

Any ideas?

Servers might be experiencing issues at the moment as other threads have started to appear regarding server issues. That's my guess. Might want to log off for a bit till they straighten it out.
