DS4Windows/Input Mapper issues

Hey guys,

I know this is an ED forum, but I was hoping that some of you might be able to help me with this issue.

I'm having a bit of a weird issue with ED and DS4Windows?/Input Mapper and macros.

For some reason the macro I set up isn't working as intended in ED. I set up a macro to have the touch pad button be the "L" key. I can open notepad and hit the touch pad and it types the "L" key within Windows. However, as soon as I open ED, and try to map the touch pad button to a control, ED recognizes the touch pad input as "JOY 14", and not the "L" key.

Any ideas as to why this is happening? I'd love to be able to use macros, but this is driving me nuts...

try running your macro program as administrator?

I did try this, but it doesn't help. ED is still seeing it as a "JOY14" button instead of a key press.

Also, the weird thing is, I can use the COMMS window, and I can actually type using the buttons. I can type out "L" into the COMMS window.... this is really strange...

OK, I seem to be getting somewhere here, but not quite.

It seems that using the option "Scan Code" allows ED to recognize that a key has been pressed, but not quite.

It's seeing it as "[JOY 14] + [L] ". Is there a way to get it to stop recognizing it as a JOY key + another key?

When using DS4Windows, and I press any button on the DS4, it's recognizing the buttons as multiple buttons pressed together, and I can't figure out why...

Alright, guys. I've figured this out.

There's an option in DS4Windows to hide the DS4 controller. This is the key to getting it to emulate the 360 controller perfectly within ED.

The problem is, if you don't hide the DS4 controller within the DS4Windows settings, you end up essentially using 2 controllers at the same time.

For example, if you press the "B" button (circle on the DS4), ED will think you pressed the "B" button AND the "JOY (irandom #)" button at the exact same time. So, ED will see it as + [JOY (random #)] instead of just the button.

Therefore, hiding the DS4 controller in the settings will allow you to emulate the 360 controller (and use macros perfectly) beautifully!

Anyhow, I just thought I would post a reply with my fixed issue.

Cheers
