Newcomer / Intro DSS Difficulties

I'm trying to get into Exploration and I just started mapping my first planet to find out that I am unable to aim the probes without exiting the DSS, aiming, then re-entering the DSS... I've found the keybind I need to assign (Multicrew third-person yaw and pitch axis) but cannot figure out how to assign my mouse to said axis's. When it says "Move axis for..." I try to move my mouse but it doesn't register. Help

Ummm if you go into controls then select detailed surface scanner (almost right at the bottom of the list) you will find all the binds nessesary to operate the device. Reference binding your movement to the mouse idk I use a hotas for all movement.
Don't think multicrew has anything to do with binding commands to the dss

It is not multi crew axis you need. Right at the top of the DSS keybind settings is "mouse X axis" and "mouse Y axis" these need to be set to yaw and pitch

I also have the DSS applied to a fire group where "fire 2" on my joystick activates the scanner.
