DSS Probes... are these sterile???

So I was wondering, when we are shooting these things at Water Worlds, and more importantly, Earthlikes (which obviously have life on them, probably animals and stuff)... are these probes even remotely sanitary/sterile when we are launching them or are they just covered in our damn germs and illnesses? Wondering if we are contaminating these worlds or not.

No, they don't exist, it's a game.

Also, I believe the lore was changed when Will wrote during the beta that the probes detonate in the atmosphere, not by hitting the surface. So only minor potential nuclear fallout.

Not just lore, you can see it in game when you look at a detination from the side: the blue blast is high above the surface.

I think we are eventually poisoning their atmosphere, that's why it gives me confort when i only map water worlds. :)

They could be made by utilising the waste CO2 and biowaste in your ship …. guess that answers the OP's question doesn't it …. ;)

Yup - that's why we don't have space legs - if you were walking around away from your CMDR chair space-potty you would run out of probe material. Simples.

No. They actually contain dirty DNA bombs. The Pilots Federation is making sure we seed a much of the galaxy as possible so we can rise up again after the Thargoids wipe us out :D

With all the other conspiracies in the game revealed and speculated to be true, this makes a lot of sense. I fear that the result would only be noticed in a sequel game released in a few hundred years at the earliest.
