Hello there Commanders.
1 question, 2 ships.... Scout has a DSS and performs a surface level scan of a ring and detects hotspots. I park the Scout and come back with a Miner which does not have a DSS but full mining setup. Will I still see hotspots with the Miner when I get back to the scanned ring?

Reasons, yes, yes, I know, what's the point of not having a DSS on a miner? My miner is a Conda and kinda expensive to scout with... :)
Thanks for any information or advice.
o7 Commanders...

No DSS, no visible hotspots.

It bites, yes, and your shipboard computer should really be able to remember where the spots are, but you shouldn't be mining in a small ship anyway. :)

Yes, true that. ASPx is just a system scouter as I was going to try and us Cutter for mining. But as you all know it is quite expensive to scout with a Cutter....lol

TY everyone for your info..o7

Every ship I have mounts a DSS, regardless of role. You stumble by so many valuable planets that having the DSS in every ship is a no brainer for me. Drop off the businessmen, and lookie there, a water world! Cha-ching.

To summarise, you cannot see the hotspots without a DSS on your ship. You have to scan once to see them. After that, you can go in any ship and see them without having to rescan as long as you have the DSS on your ship.
