Carrier / Deployment Info:[IGAU] Cygni-Vanguard is being deployed in association with IGAU (Intergalactic Astronomical Union) - whose members are collectively fielding at least six other DSSA FC spread around the galaxy - each with the goal of performing in-depth sector exploration and support for explorers in general. Intended as a personal FC initially - FC XZH-NXF was originally named the 'Eremita Carcinus' (Hermit Crab) - but was renamed for the role of being a launching point for exploring the Orion-Cygnus region.

The name of the deployment: "Deepness In the Sky" comes from the Hugo Award winning Vernor Vinge novel - and refers to a 'relatively dark' section of the Orion-Cygnus arm when viewed on the ED Astrometrics saturation density map.

The Floalk sector was selected as it is centrally located in the Orion-Cygnus region - and nearly equidistant to Colonia and 4-5 other DSSA FCs....It lies approximately halfway between the permit locked Froadik region and the Carnation Nebula (Boeppy NU-Q b8-2) - with a number of dark dust clouds silouetted against the backdrop of the central core of the Milky Way (Carnation Nebula visible through ring in top left of picture)

Great to see the first visitors! Stop by anytime (especially when you have a bit more cargo capacity) for something stronger than coffee or tea ;)

Have also updated posts 2 (Market / Shipyard / Outfitting) and post 3 (Floalk sector POIs, Jumponium / Raw Material Systems, List of ELWs) with links to Google sheets that I will try to keep updated while I explore...

Here's one of the closest ring orbits I have found to date (also in the POI listing): Floalk IR-L d8-37 / B 5 a....The moon is less than 1000 km from rings...You can see the individual asteroids moving past in the ring:

And after a ship swap - finding a nice spot to land and farm some Selenium as well:

First off: finally got around to learning GIMP and putting together an Expedition / DSSA Mission Badge - see 1st post

In addition to above close rings - have now found an even closer body (Floalk JH-Z c15-13 ) < 250 km from the surface!

Applied to add this as a GMP POI titled 'Moonraker' here: GMP-POI 'Moonraker'

o7 CMDRS,
I'd like to report discoverty of an Earth Like World only 252Ly from the Cygni-Vanguard.

As you can see the planet is in Floalk MT-G d11-100

The system itself is quite juicy to other explorers containing multiple gas giants and High Metal Content Worlds, tow of which are terraformable.

Here is the map:

And as you can see the planet resembles Earth in terms of atmosphere (the same content mix), pressure (nearly), and gravity.

Here's the beauty

Updated with system map, it might ba worth to scan the HMCs as well but I have very little time and need urgently speed up to Colonia

And if anyone is interested there is a Black Hole more or less midway between DSSA Inverness and Cygni Vanguard

Well folks it's been far, far, far too long since I posted an update...

I am doing fine - as is DSSA 133...PSA: she also now does double-duty for the STAR Network as a Tritium Depot - and can have as much as 13,000 Tritium aboard - in case you have a FC running low in the area [remember too that its parked over a nice Double-Tritium hotspot in case you care to mine...

Just rooting around unvisited systems - and came across this Exobiology gem (for all you Exo-completionists out there ):

Floalk EM-H b41-3

The yellow checks were new personal Codex variants for me (6x) and the green checks were entirely new Codex species to me (4x - but the Fumerola Aquatis had two variants as well!)....and then just smother the whole thing with two Stratum Tectonicas (blue checks)

I will add a tab to the valuable bodies in one of the spreadsheets linked in first post(s) for good Exobiology planets as well....
