Dual audio output with USB headset.

OK, first I want to start by saying that I'm not sure about which forum to post this in, so please feel free to move it. Sorry.

Anyways, on to the topic.

I'm trying to get audio to come out of my monitor and my USB headset simultaneously.
Back when I had a headset that plugged in with a usb AND a jack, I had no problems achieving this using the 'stereo mix' in my audio options.
However, since my current headset is USB only, I'm having a hard time finding a solution for this problem.

My headset is a wimpy Razer Kraken 7.1.
I've tried using the Razer Synapse virtual audio options, and the 'razer line in' virtual device in my recording devices to try to figure out how to loop the audio, but have had no success in finding the correct set up as of yet.

I know by having read this forum for a while that there are some pretty ingenious and ingenuitive people on here that have already perhaps encountered and solved this issue.
Anyone care to share?

This post slowly slid into the void, so I'm regrettably bumping it.

Also, if a mod could move this to the correct forum, thank you, very much.

99% sure this can't be done with software, the USB and HDMI audio outputs are two distinct devices in Windows - you can't loop the output from the HDMI into the USB virtual line-in without using custom drivers. I haven't seen drivers that do that since the old Soundblaster32 days.

The only solution is to use a breakout box like this
http://www.amazon.co.uk/ViewHD-Audio-Extractor-Converter-Model-VHD-H2HSAs/dp/B00KBHX072

You'll need a pair of headphones with a 1/4" or 3.5mm jack and an adaptor to change it to 2xRCA plugs
http://www.amazon.co.uk/StarTech-3-5mm-Female-Stereo-Audio/dp/B00KTHGDCS/

So not impossible just a bit of a faff, and you'll need to spend a bit of cash. Hope this helps!

edit - just wanted to add that Windows can run multiple sound devices simultaneously, but the game needs to be hardcoded to make use of it.

Try virtual audio cable.

Its a bit of a pain to setup, i've only ever used it for multiple inputs, not outputs but I assume it'd work.. no doubt someones made a guide some where on the internet.

I was looking for the same for when my SubPac arrives, so I can output the sub channel via my SoundBlaster and simultaneously get the full sound on my USB headphones. After some searching and coming across posts that this cannot be done, unless you run two soundcards simultaneously (for example dedicate soundcard + onboard sound), I finally found the answer in one of the threads here:

Voicemeeter

It's a free software that will install a virtual pair of speakers. You set this as your default output for audio. Then, inside Voicemeeter you can configure it to output the sound to two of your actual sound hardware devices (for example sound card + USB headphones). It works very well.

Wow, thank you man! I've done a lot of searching for this problem, and came across the same kind of posts as you, but I haven't heard of Voicemeeter.
Thank you very much for the link!
