Wow, I'm surprised!
Two clients, Windowed mode - running on the same PC.
I haven't really seen a procedure posted yet, so I'll try to put together one since I'm testing it right now.
Cool stuff:
- All the game settings is shared between characters, such as sound / controllers etc.
Bad stuff:
- Settings are shared.
I highly recomend that you back up all the Frontier-folders before you start.
Please notice that I have 2 accounts, however they have:
- Two different product ID's one is premium beta (FORC-FDEV-D-1001) the other is later Horizon (FORC-FDEV-D-1010)
- Hence two installation folders, because of two-prdouct ID's.
Perhaps having two products / installation-folders is a requirement to be able to do this.

How to achieve multiboxing
Backup of Launcher-Profiles
This step prepares you to save the "Frontier Launcher Profile" for later.
Saving the profiles will allow you to start another launcher without having to redo the email verification steps.
Startup order
At this stage you know which character you used, which is active with the launcher.
However, after 2 days you may not remember, so here's a normal startup order.
MyCharacter1
Congrats - you should have both characters on screen!

This step prepares you to save the "Frontier Launcher Profile" for later.
Saving the profiles will allow you to start another launcher without having to redo the email verification steps.
- Create folder aka "C:\Users\<YOU>\AppData\Local\Frontier_Backups" to store your backups.
- Create a Subfolder for MyCharacter1 and another MyCharacter2.
This way you will find it quickly when you start your Launcher and need to swap profile.
- Start with Launcher for MyCharacter1
- Launch the game and make sure the game is running in Windowed mode at your preffered resolution.
- Shut down the game.
- Copy / backup the:
Code:C:\Users\<YOU>\AppData\Local\Frontier_Developments
Please note the underscore in 'Frontier_Developments'.
The "user.config" stored inside the "\EDLaunch.exe_Url_<long-key-here>\0.4.2854.0" is the key-file which saves your Launcher-state as well as your 'email confirmation'.
Note: The numbers will change for later versions of Elite. New launcher, new numbers.
Please Redo backup when you get a new launcher. - Repeat the procedure MyCharacter2
Startup order

MyCharacter1
- Make sure launcher and game is shut down
- Copy the "Frontier_Developments" from C:\Users\<YOU>\AppData\Local\Frontier_Backups\MyCharacter1\
- Paste into "C:\Users\<YOU>\AppData\Local".
This shold overwrite the "Frontier_Developments" with data from your first character. - Launch, log on and start the game.
- Close the previous LAUNCHER (not the game) for MyCharacter1.
- Copy the "Frontier_Developments" from C:\Users\<YOU>\AppData\Local\Frontier_Backups\MyCharacter2\
- Paste into "C:\Users\<YOU>\AppData\Local".
This shold overwrite the "Frontier_Developments" with data from your second character. - Launch, log on and start the game.
Congrats - you should have both characters on screen!
