Newcomer / Intro Dual Fighter Combat with a NPC Pilot?

Hey I've primarily flown small ships like the vipers for the last few months. I was thinking about doing real fighter pilot ships for fun though. If I had a dual fighter bay would it work for me to team up with a NPC crew member for some tag team fighter mayhem?

I was thinking of maybe getting a large ship and parking it outside of a haz rez. Then I'd zip over with a NPC wingman and we'd pop some FDLs (or try at least)

You can only launch one fighter at a time. Either you or an NPC can fly it, but not both. Whoever flies it, the other has to fly the mothership.

You can have two slf ships out fighting

Use Multicrew (Or npc + a multicrew)

Yeah, sadly you need a real friend for that.

Dual hangar is still useful though as you can lauch another fighter immediately after the previous one was destroyed instead of waiting for the replacement to 3D-print itself.

Thanks all! I guess I'll try out multicrew a bit first to get a feel for it.

That's a weird limitation. I honestly haven't done multicrew very much before so new things to try out.
