I used to play with a PS3 DualShock on my mac - the PS4 version has felt really heavy and cumbersome in comparison, and I've just found out why - there's an ENORMOUS dead-zone set up in the default bindings, which really isn't needed at all.
If you're having trouble with control finesse, try taking the dead-zone right down to next to nothing & you will hopefully find you have lovely fingertip control of your movements. So much better now!
