Dukes of Jotun

Maybe the powers that be, Simbad Regime, find a way to let the subject own a permit giving asset outside of Jotun, so they can give permit to the unaffiliated BGS people that are not working against a specific PMF, but simply want to be able to unlock Jotun permit.

Hopefully a situation similar to Peregrina Aristocrats and Close Encounter Corps can be avoided.

? They're ok, in Djaujang giving out the permit. If Simbad decide to go down the BGS griefer route like the other lot I'm sure they'll get the same response 🤷‍♀️

Yeah, it looks like if anything, Djaujang is SR turf and someone pushed the dukes up into war, not SR trying to take their system.

There is a war there.
Dukes are not holding any stations, just 3 settlements at the moment... and will probably lose one of those settlements in this war.
So i guess it's going that route

Sure, if enough people start fighting for the Dukes, they might get an outpost (Cochrane Refinery) - but the chances might be slim

It doesn't matter. As long as they are in the system AFAIK?

Yeah, as long as they don't retreat it's fine.

Maybe if I get bored I'll put the dukes back in charge in Jotun itself and see about spamming some expansions into the nearby systems. I can't remember the range for the permit - is it 15ly?

Maybe getting them a presence in the other systems in that range will take some of the pressure off Djaujang.

This is where PMFs attacking the permit systems is unfair - there is no group stopping the permit givers being retreated, just casual traffic from people with no long term interest. Not sure it's worth fighting if the PMF are intent on being bad actors - they will just keep on. Griefers gonna grief 🤷‍♀️

I think so, but they seem to get bounced up/down to get into wars and shed assets, then eviction might come next
I don't know why they'd bother - just push them down & out. Unless it is just the permit unlockers keeping pushing the Dukes back up 🤷‍♀️ Does seem ominous - might do some work to stop them retreating, but I won't be doing that for the next 2 years ...

Looks like the war ended.

Not sure who won but the Dukes are ahead in INFL, so I guess it was them? UI seems conflicted about whether the Dukes took control of the system or not 🤷‍♀️

Yesterday when i was in the area (and got like 50 millions bonds for them Dukes), SR were ahead 1-0.
Seems your memory is better than mine, must have been confusing it with one of the other permit wars I've been doing :)

Simbad is still in charge despite lower INF, so must have won the war. I guess the Outbreak cost them INF while the war was on!

So maybe what happened was Simbad did the minimum to win the war, then some randoms  turned up on the last day and turned it into a draw.

If anything, dukes on the highest influence with simbad in overall system control is the best outcome for both. Unless Dukes push all the way to 60% and trigger a coup it doesn't matter if people work for them to obtain the permit. Meanwhile, Dukes are pretty solidly insulated from the possibility of being retreated.

yeah, I think if I was a PMF with a permit system I'd leave them 1 working system and just keep an eye out for expansions and stop them. Be a guardian rather than a griefer ...
