Hi, I am new here. game looks fine but when are we gonna get Raids and dungeons?
Thanks in advance

Comming in the next expansion with a new star-system and tier 2 armors.

And yes please! I wanna queue for battleground also.

No, I don't want to magically transport from one place in this huge galaxy to another, just to be able to chain instant gratification to instant gratification. Travel is an essential part of ED and I don't want it to be optional.

Or indeed sit in a queue with the random number generator which is the "estimated wait time" for an hour or more waiting for that LFR slot to come up.

Your incredulity does nothing to add content. Lack of fundamentals is not a feature. MMO, but no grouping mechanics. . . Multi-player wings will help. But the inability to teleport groups of players together to engage in group instances.. how is that a feature?

People actually play those truck simulator games? Like, what is the appeal?

I'm pretty sure you'll find the forums and niche fans of ETS2k a very very close match to the ED forums and fans :)

Hi I'm old here, I'm better than you, I'm a superior gamer, you suck because you want to have fun! Did I mention I'm superior? oh also whats up with these kids and their quicktime events.

No Best-in-slot class-A's across the board? No Raid for you, buddy!

Ha, instead we get to play the everlasting "lucky if you ever see another player". Great game that.

Ever stop to consider what a sucky MMO this is. Have any ideas how to make it less sucky?

Perhaps a system similar to the one in Guildwars 2 where just your presence is entry into the mission is a good method of player interaction?

Imagine the scene?
A player has picked up a mission to interdict 4 pirates at a nav point. While he is fighting, he realises that he cannot win this one and is faced with a run or death scenario.

To save his skin he sends a "Assistance or Distress call" which is effectively an invitation into the mission.
A responder agrees via a yes no in the communications screen if he agrees to assist then he is provided with the coordinates of the player in distress. (The system then matches the instances of the players).
If no then the coordinates are not provided.

The responding player is then provided with a performance based reward on completion which is subtracted from the distressed vessels commander.

If the responder chooses to shoot and kill the vehicle in distress then this is regarded badly and his money account is docked and his status toward criminal is increased.
(The game mechanics would have to be carefully thought out here to prevent the odd stray shot or collision in the heat of combat being misinterpreted as an attack).

Seriously, I know two people who play the game and we haven't yet met ingame because it is just too time consuming. One was 76ly and the other one more than 170ly away. Thanks to the limited route planing and the time it takes to travel and the the fact you can't do much meaningful stuff together we decided to not meet.

There should be some functionality to bring people together. Something like transport from A to B for 1000C or something like this. There are some die hard fanbosy who always come up with the phrase "use your imagination" to cover the shortcomings of the game. I'll use my imagination this time then and me and my ship will be transported quickly by some kind of system from A to B!

I think that was, on balance, the feature WoW added that started its fall. Pickup groups were almost never good - making them artificially teleport you enhanced the appearance of instancing and reduced the perception of the persistent, travelling world. (Whether it's rising again, I'll leave to those who still play it.)

It's completely the wrong direction for ED in my opinion.

You play this and have to ask? This is just Euro Space Trucker.

People play Goat simulator...and (err!) chew grass!

They play Flight sim X and run "virtual" airlines and freight imaginary goods all over the world. I can remember playing "Star trek" in 1978 using the letter "A" for a spaceship and an Asterisk "*" for a star and being enthralled by it.

If you want to deride Elite as "Just space truckers", then almost every game you have played falls into the same trap. try these for size.

Little big planet ... it's just a platformer...
Medal of honour (or any FPS) ... it's just a target shooting game like the ones in arcades in the 1960's done with wires springs and mechanical relays.
Warcraft ... Dungeons and Dragons pen and paper game on steroids.
Grand theft auto ... Just an adventure game like Zork with graphics.

...ET cetera. What it's "just like" is not the issue. Humans categorise things thats how we survive. We also don't come up with disassociated ideas, so something will always be 'like' something else.
