Due to almost all astronomy being done with still images and that most people's experiences with the night sky are rather static ( meteors excepted :) ), it's always great to see something 'alive' in astronomy.

Crab Nebula Pulsar: Intense forces causing ripples in the dust and gas surrounding the pulsar ( timelapse ).

Its hard to remember that these aren't simulations or C.G. they're actual images of the region around the pulsar.

I'm afraid not, I think the top one is Chandra, if I remember correctly but not sure about bottom one. Im sure some google-fu or reverse image search would turn up the originals.
