I wouldn't really call it a scam...it's NOT an official app though so whatever dates it shows are pure guesses. It's just something a fan has made...

I have it installed in my tablet and love the backgrounds. The countdown timer on it counts to september 20th which is Elite's 30th anniversary. Plenty of speculation on that date who knows maybe we'll see some sort of release but for now it is just a countdown to the anniversary.

I think there are a couple count down apps out there, problem is that the authors know as much as we do about when its going to launch, the last one I saw that was made last year had the countdown for the launch March 2014.

The app is not a official Frontier app, and it's been available for quite a while.

The creator does post on the forum and as far as I know there is no reason to suspect anything dodgy about it.

I'm closing the thread as it's starting to veer off topic.
