E3 2014: Elite: Dangerous Developer Demo

Yeah but we already had an E3 thread so I was playing with fire anyway starting a new thread. What an awesome commentary from DB though.

I do love the way DB describes things. You can really pick up on the passion he has for the game in his voice.

This is brilliant. Loved the moving controls. The spaceport is gorgeous. The 'treelined avenues' sound cool.

The safe disengage distance seems to be 1000km now too. Kinda cool.

Many good things to come it seems. :D

I thought that was just an editing issue

Yup I think there may have been a small whoopsie there :)

The larger stations obviously need work, but they still look lovely. Having trees and stuff in there would be beautiful - I'm imagining a cross between Silent Running and Rendezvous with Rama.

Oooh - a cylindrical sea, pretty please!

Looking very nice.

I hope the system scenarios are tweaked to be more realistic and dynamic (ie. they appear to have a beginning and a conclusion) as opposed to appearing as a static scenario more akin to a typical multiplayer/AI map scenario.

At the moment these scenarios just seem very abstract with an unending supply of Federation/Independent Lemmings spawning in which we can farm.

Looked like a great presentation.
Nice to see some of the new things that are awaiting us, things certainly are starting to get polished now.

I wonder what we will see tomorrow, there should be another 20 min presentation on the samsung stage at 19.00 EU/18.00UK time.

Here you go! :p

Thanks!

I wonder if FD could pull that off - it would look wonderful! Or how about a destroyed station, with cylindrical rivers of molten metal.
