E3 in Los Angeles is canceled

Let's face it, E3 was dead for years. Half of the dev houses have their own conventions now anyway and didn't even bother going to E3.

But yeah, generally speaking, social life will probably suck for the next couple of months.

Par for the course with regard to conventions and conferences.

I was more surprised that the entire SUNY university system is going online-only for almost everything for the semester after spring break.

It won't be missed. It's just a shame that this is why they've cancelled it. Would be better if they openly admitted about 5 years ago that it just became a big joke.
Look at the bright side. They might have never done it and just dragged it on and on, unable to admit what they have become. This way they get to keep their head up high. It's easier to leave this way.

E3, big event of the video game scheduled next June, is canceled due to the coronavirus epidemic.
Good. Most of the good, big name AAA devs weren't planning on being there this year anyways. They're finding out it's far more cost effective to hold their own convention than paying for booth and podium space at E3. Not even sure the organizers where thinking of putting on a show this year after the likes of Sony pulled out for the 2nd year in a row. Definitely wasn't looking forward to whatever mutation UbiSoft could come up with Assassin's Creed Ragnarok :cautious:

For my part I did not intend to go to Los Angeles and anyway, the Europeans are prohibited in the United States currently.

:)

Good, I'm sick of game companies waiting for E3 to divulge what they're working on, like if we were still in the 90's and still depended on gaming "press" to spread the news around.

Ditto. It's totally unnecessary in this day and age, and if it dies, then that death couldn't come any sooner.
