E3 was a success ?

It'll have generated many Xbox flavoured ED sales from the publicity there so in that aspect E3 would have been a success. Not sure about the rollercoaster side of things - that's for them to feedback to us :)

I do not see how it could be a failure. It was a fairly large "event" with world wide coverage, and Frontier made headlines on many PC gaming news sites (not only about Elite either but also their new Coaster game).

Part of the cost in making a game is advertising it. To me E3 is a nice advertising platform.

but that being said, I am just guessing.

E3 was incredible.

It was as if I was watching myself having my own first reaction to this game, over and over, with each member of the press I got to demo the game to. Be it on XBox, PC, or using the Rift, I watched one jaw after another drop again and again.

Elite got revealed to a lot of folks that didn't know all about it yet, got some great attention, and got to announce some new features incoming, as well as a "oh SURPRISE!" moment in revealing XBox access was available "RIGHT NOW" on the preview program.

Can't wait to do it again, if they will have me. Here's to many more :)

For Xboxers, certainly. For us, might as well not have existed.
Well, apart from all that lovely cash that will be generated from Xbox sales that will be pushed back into development of the game for the benefit of all of us. And the news that CQC will be coming to the PC later this year. Absolutely nothing.

I was quite disappointed no ED PC news came from E3.
Newsletter #79 kinda told us that there would be 'some' news from it, instead of the regular newsletter.

Having said that, E3 in general was pretty pointless - only 1 game impressed me (Star Wars Battlefront), everything else was "meh", or "seen it before".

E3 summary:
- Xbox One users = success!
- PC users = failure in the short term, success in the long term (see below)!
- FD = success (more revenue from Xbox users)!
