Eagle is the Frogstar fighters from HHGG?

You may need to explain.. or post a reference pic..

I dont remember any sort of description for the frogstars in the book that may resemble a specific ship in Elite (other then green).. but it has been years since I read it last.. and I never did see, nor will I ever see the terrible, terrible movie if they showed one in that...

And I think the actual Acronym most people know it by is HG2G or HHGTTG :)

I don't think there was any detailed description of the Frogstar ships than Zaphod seeing one passing by as a green blur.. and later on Zarnivoop saying he thinks that they are grey, and not green, in the real universe.

Well I've always seen it as HHGG or H2G2 (HitchHikers Guide to the Galaxy http://www.h2g2.com/) But nevermind that now.

If you have never seen the film, how do you know it's terrible??

I can't find a picture or referance online, but I just always imagined them being green and nimble and small... And I can't see an Eagle without thinking "Frogstar fighter - Kill it!! before it snatches us and takes us away to frogstar world B"

I just assume because I have not come across a single person who has read the book, that thought the movie was even "decent" let alone "good" :) I mostly hear "Dont bother" or "dissapointing"... or "id rather use a meat slicer and start with my fingertips then watch it again".. so.. yeah.. just an asumption ;)

I've read the books and enjoyed them a lot! I've seen the movie and was entertained for a couple of hours, Martin Freeman was good! It's not the same amazing experience as Douglas Adams books or radioshows (but that would be some feat if it was), but I enjoyed it :)

:) Im sure it was entertaining..

I try to stay away from most Book -> Movie movies.. I rarely enjoy them.. but Im also not a fan of the garbage Hollywood is pumping out now with all thier super hero reboots, sequils, prequils and "formula" movies (underdog gets power, villan gets port.. hero and villan meet.. fights happen.. villan stomps hero.. hero maes a comeback gets villan, villan is seen (or not) alive still, or new villan introduced).. Then again. I dont actualy own a TV either.. so im not opposed to knowing that its just "me" :)

Y'know an awful lot of very good films have come from adaptations of books. But not Hitchhiker's ;P

Eh, I didn't hate the movie. Remember, NO two versions of HHGTTG have been vaguely similar other than in that world-ending fashion and the character names.

But the movie was certainly the weakest of the versions out there.

Don't get me wrong, I know lots of movies are based on books, or a loose idea within a book, etc.. Its just my personal view that the vast majority of movies which are practically page by page of the book(s) usually end up disappointing.. But not always... and its due to that past disappointment, I don't even give a lot of new ones a try.. I mainly rely on friends with the same movie preferences to let me know if it was worthwhile :)

Ill have to try the suggested Hero with a thousand faces.. sounds interesting..

Just finished re-reading 1984 a few weeks ago after a few years... so im looking for something new
