Eagle vs Imperial Eagle paintjobs

Hi all, I've got a question about my Imperial Eagle.

I've got the Black Friday paint job for it, and it looks brilliant. A while back, as a Community Goal extra, I also got the Chrome Eagle paintjob. I can't apply this to my Imperial Eagle though in the outfitters.

This confuses me as there are no "Imperial Eagle" paintjobs in the store, just Eagle ones. I'm loathe to buy any in case I discover I can't use them :/

Can anybody shed any light on this for me please?

Paintjobs only work on ship its says. I.e eagle paintjobs don't work on imperial eagle, viper mk 3 skins don't work on viper mk 4 and same with every ship that has two copies in game.

So until frontier add imperial eagle paintjobs it has no other skins available.

Imperial Eagle is treated as a sperate ship, so you cant use standard Eagle skins on them.

I am hoping they release some iEagle skins as my souped up DD3 (710m/s boost) iEagle looks cool in black, but I want something with more flames!

Currently grinding Marco, so i can get Palin and see what DD5 rolls I can get on this racer.

I feel sorry for those CMDRs who completed the Chrome Eagle CG just to find out their Imperial Eagle was not considered "Eagle" enough for a chrome skin. Pee-pee'd me off.
