In the preview trial you can only play the tutorials and you get 60 minutes.

But ill just say you will need longer than 60 minutes to complete all the tutorials.

If you purchase it you'll be able to play all the available Xbox content. I've never tried PC version so I've no idea if it's aligned or not but it seems to me an almost complete game.

The preview is the whole game, as near as I can tell. It has all of the 1.3 features (with bugs) like PowerPlay, and the 1.3 ships, so it's the whole 400 billion stars. I've been playing for a couple of hours now.

The terminology (trial and preview) is confusing. The "trial" is a 60 minute version of the game that just has the tutorials in it, although the tutorials on the Xbox version are nicely tweaked compared to the PC/Mac version. Incursion is a joy with a pimped out Asp for example.

Welcome, Commander. I think it's SO awesome that 2-3 days in we have some many new players on the console. I'm a seasoned (salty?) PC player, but it's great to see some newcomers to test/trial the game.

Anacondas are amongst the toughest ships in the game, and you don't have Chaff to disrupt her weapons, so it's really down to keeping your distance to recharge your shields, and managing your pips well.

I haven't defeated that Anaconda yet, but got her shields down after 3 goes. My basic strategy was to have all pips to WEP with the remaining two on SYS and my ENG capacitor full so I could boost. Get in close and underneath the Anaconda, and fire in controlled bursts of around 3 seconds, then off for two. Use side thrust (right stick) too to keep moving away from incoming fire. When your shields drop to one ring, stop climbing/diving to keep the Anaconda in your sights, and boost away. She _should_ be facing the other way. Get your pips onto ENG, and move to over 3km away* Get your pips onto SYS, and keep flying at around 280km/s so she can't hit you, but will follow you. Repeat until you die. :) Oh, once her shields are down, you're basically dead anyway. She's got Point Defense, so the missiles don't work against her, so you're grinding against her hull with overheated LASERs and a ship that's got holes in it. It's really hard to concentrate once you start to take damage, so always, always be ready to run to a safe distance.

*I've found that if you go toooo far away from ships, maybe >10km, that they disappear in the tutorials.

Thank you, this gives me hope. I was thinking I was a total inept but, knowing it's a good opponent, it makes me feel (a bit) better.
I can't imagine how hard the next tutorial could be. :)

Hi all,

I bought the game last night £24.99 blah blah and didn't have time to complete all the tutorial. I loaded it up tonight and for some reason I don't have the option to start the game anymore - I press A and nothing happens - just a rotating station beside a planet!!!! Argh!

Anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks in advance and apologies if I'm being an idiot!

i have this same problem. bought the game not the trial but play is greyed out.

D: its kinda sad i was so hyped to play

I had this. Just went to dashboard and quit game and reloaded.

Yeah, I've had to same problem too. Went back to dashboard - then 'ended' the game and restarted it. Bit of a pain but it seems to work.
