Earning credits too hard? Nope.

Ok, so it took a little time to get up to the Asp, configured with the necessary drives and cargo bays. But the fact of now being able to earn that much cash in that short a space of time... almost too easy.

In fairness: you have an ASP with a boatload of cargo space - didn't catch the exact number in the vid but 80+. Then you filled those bays with over $500K worth of product. You then took those products to a place you'd presumably either identified as having materially higher buy prices or stumbled upon (didn't get that far in the video). In short: you'd done a boatload of work to get there.

Making money in-game isn't hard if you put your mind to it, but there are many folks out there who aren't doing it well. Many don't understand how to use the galaxy map to its full effect (e.g. to find lucractive trade routes), and even when they do the map alone doesn't tell you how much you'll make on a per unit basis. Heck, sometimes the map sends you astray! You have to have done some first hand research to figure that out, recorded or memorized your findings, and then plot a path once you'd figured it out - or rely on luck. Again, it's not rocket science - it just takes a bit of patience and effort, but most are patient or dedicated enough to amass those sorts of credits. To the dedicated and patient, and those who plan ahead/record their findings, making money on trading isn't hard and gets much easier the bigger the ship you fly down the road. Early on, and to the impatient masses, it feels tough.

Sorry, yeah, it was a rather gratuitous "Look what I've managed" video. Does prove a point as to what you can do if you put your mind to it, though.

192t cargo in that Asp, 35 Ly range unladen, 23 Ly fully laden.

Making CRs at the beginning is where it gets hard. Once you got a Lakon Type-6, then even bigger cargo ship, you can easily find a 2 stations route to make that profit everytime.

I have a Lakon 6 and I can make about 80-100k with 96T so it makes sense you can double that
I used to make 25-50k with a Cobra and 40T...

Basically, once you have done your homework and grinded the initial funds to get a good ship, it is too easy.

it's work... You have to put in the time... And a little bit of logic...

There are 'trade tools' out there, where fellow Commanders have put in lots of effort to 'assist' in earning, but I feel it kinda takes away from the experience. So I tried not to use them (Note the words 'Tried').

In Early Beta, I wrote down every system I visited, noted 'Population', 'Wealth', "Economy". Tried to use logic to help my cash earning.

Then the Galaxy Map came out, and I tried to use the 'In Game' tools for 'Trade Routes', and followed the Map exclusively.

I found out quickly that the map was *WRONG*, the trade routes (as pretty as they were) just didn't cut it.

So I took screenshots of every market I encountered, made an excel spreadsheet, and then did calculations on highest-lowest spread on the sale...

Then I saw a post about a 'marketing tool' and found that I had spent 5 - 10 hours *OFFLINE* working on my Excel data, when there was a website that you could put 'System A' and 'System B' in and it would show you the money to be made between the two.

Truth is, you can use In-game tools, out of game tools, put lots of time, or no time into it... But you can figure it out.

And even if you don't want to figure out the laws of trading, you can mine or do the easiest thing, point your ship at other ships until one says "Wanted" and shoot. I like the fact that some things you need to figure out, and some things you'll find easier than others.

I find that most of the people who are complaining haven't even *TRIED*... And I can say, after *TRYING* on my own, with my Excel Spreadsheets and screenshots, I found a routine using the same method as the OP, but it only made about 140k per trip.

People seem to get bent out of shape when people are flying Asps when they are stuck in a Sidewinder. The thing they don't seem to ever ask, is how many Hours did you put in to get that Asp...

I think the OP just showed that in a non-game breaking way, that with persistence, and effort, you can earn what at first may seem unbelievable.

But in order to get there, you need to put in the time and effort.

That's what this game is about... It wouldn't be worth the risk if there was no reward. And you can earn your way, you just have to persist at it. But it is possible.

Thanks again OP (reload) for sharing!

Am i the only one who thinks that the market in Wolf 497 is a little ... odd? There is zero demand for Progenitor Cells, yet they will buy for well over the galactic average.

I had a similar run (a lot lower jump range too) but the demand, and thus the price dropped off to nearly nothing as i think it was getting hammered by other people.
