Earning merits with Li Yong-Rui?

So back in the day I just went to a neighboring system that wasn't part of my pledged power and murdered agents at NAV beacons, what do I do now? I looked for answers but only found 3+ hour videos on YouTube and 45 page explanations on forums and I simply cant be bothered. Where do I go and who do I kill for some merits? Thanks lol

From memory;

You need to set Powerplay Filters on the GalMap and look for Systems that have been targeted for attack, I forget the correct term, it's been quite some time, but systems targeted should have an icon above them that looks like a cross-hair, go to those and interdict Powerplay Agents IIRC, 30 Merits per kill, you shouldn't get a bounty for it, and any system Authorities that do show up look the other way.

Correct me if I'm wrong, I'd give a more detailed explanation, but, as said, it's been some time since I last did this activity, but that's the general idea of it.

Bear in mind that in combat zone you do not get bounties on your head, but only earn 10 merits per kill of opposing agents (30 outside the CZ).

Go to a hostile power control system and drop 30km BEHIND the nav-beacon.
  1. Target the nav-beacon in SC.
  2. Drop as soon as the "safe disengage" (blue) message disappears.
  3. You'll drop approx. 30 km behind the nav-beacon, here only PP ships drop in.
  4. Kill order (each is worth 30 merits):
    1. Lone ships
    2. SLF
    3. Wing escort (...escort will leg it if main ship is killed first)
    4. Wing main ship
  5. Jump back to SC.
  6. Start back at 1. , rinse & repeat.

how does one define a "hostile power control system"? is it just any system from oposing faction or does it have to be in some sort of a specific state?

The quickest and most efficient way to get merits is to deliver his stuff rather than combat. Go to his HQ and find out what he wants you to deliver to his control systems, then deliver it to the nearest one (normally 1 jump). Do the combat if you have more time and like doing it.

It takes around 25-30 minutes to earn approx. 900 merits at the nav-beacon if you're alone, maybe 15-20 in a wing.

Check EDDB. Add you current locations, add a hostile power.
Basically any other power is hostile:
