CQC Earning your prestige badge

Well, someone up there must have a sense of humour because today I earned my first prestige badge. I don't really feel I should have a gold blob next to my ranking but I'll take it as I am better than I used to be at least.

My question to other prestige players is did you also feel like a complete noob again when you found yourself in a Condor with a couple of pulse lasers the first time you prestiged? I did and was rather surprised that I kept crashing into things and forgot to make sure I had pips in the right place and had to curse how long people took to die. At least I have a better idea where the shield power up are now.

I quite like it actually and it reminds me of the time I accidentally cleared my save in the main game and lost everything but got to have a bit of fun in a sidey again.

Yes but it gets better every time you start over again at level 1.

And... congratulations

Congratulations Scoopy Doopy!!!

I felt at home when I hit level 1. I was flying Condor before and I didn't feel much difference.

Every time I've hit level one I've felt a bit crazy until I could get an ENG-focused distributor back. After that, right at home. Apparently I'm only happy when boosting nonstop. :)

Congratulations!

I like the Prestige mechanism a lot - encourages you to try some other ship designs. Well, I like it until I get to about rank 48, and then those last two are just a slog... almost the same number of points to go from 1-20 as to go from 49-50.

Same here. Fortunately they - and efficiency boost - are early upgrades.

When I first saw the pulse lasers firing in the base Condor loadout, my initial reaction was OMG what have I done; undo, undo. ;)
But actually, it's not that bad - the pulses aren't as underpowered as I had assumed. Plus you quickly level up in CQC - and you get the challenge and rewards of unlocking the different modules again...
Agree that the engine distributer upgrade and efficiency boost are good to have as early unlocks.

Pretty sure the Pulses are the best weapon out there right now, actually. :)

Congratulations! I knew you could do it!

Me, yep, I felt every inch of the primitiveness of my equipment upon my first prestige, but I did manage to get back up to an OK rank. To me it was less the reduced weaponry variety and more the under-the-hood modules that felt low-tech.

Pulse lasers are among my favourite weapons in CQC, actually. I can still inflict a good deal of damage with them. I need more practice with the other weapons though. :p

:) It was your encouragement that got me to stick with CQC. I haven't seen you around in ages and want to try and shoot you :D

I can't even get a match.

Prestige means nothing, as you cannot loose xp. It's only an indication of how long you've played.

Much the same can be said of all progress in Elite. In general, you will still find higher ranks better than lower racks so it is some indication at least.

I did see an Elite Corvette in a Haz Res not even moving and only pitching to target ships, made me laugh. Sure enough it combat logged on me.
