Earth Defense Fleet issues warrant against Raan Corsen

EDIT: The Earth Defense Fleet has cancelled the warrant against Corsen. Anyone attempting to interfere with Corsen will be considered hostile by EDF

"Attempts to solicit the cooperation of Raan Corsen since last September have failed," said Commander Vicktore Beskor speaking at a press conference held at the Earth Defense Fleet headquarters in Okinura. "Corsen remains a person of interest in our investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of Femi Dakarai, former Chairman of Metadrive, Inc. and the theft of that company's intellectual property while it was operating under Federation jurisdiction."

"Just when it seemed that Corsen was finally willing to cooperate with us he severed channels of communication between himself and the EDF. We have no choice but to declare Corsen a wanted fugitive and issue a bounty for his capture or, if necessary, his termination.

When asked about Corsen's alleged associates Beskor stated that, "we have no concrete evidence linking any of these individuals to our investigation. They should be advised to stay the hell out of our way."

"I must say that I do believe this is not the wisest course of action for the EDF to take. I do understand the issues regarding political jurisdictions and the crimes involved, but this kind of solution will only draw the ire of the public. This is self evident in the events surrounding the allegations regarding the rogue Imperial senator, Kahina Loren. The classified intelligence in the possession of Raan Corsen is arguably more valuable than the mans life. Destroying his vessel would be a catastrophic loss of intelligence data that the EDF simply cannot afford. In addition, this would leave the EDF with a sour reputation, and nothing to show for it. If the allegations against Raan Corsen are true, then an arrest would be justifiable, but no benefit comes from ending his life."

"Furthermore, I have been following the events surrounding this man for some time now, I do not believe him guilty of these crimes. I am still collecting evidence regarding this case and once I compile a complete file, the information will be presented to the proper authorities. In the meantime, if it pleases both parties, I would be willing to act as an intermediary in order to sort out this situation and find a more peaceful resolution. I am currently attending to some private matters at the Witch Head Science Centre, but once my business here is concluded I will return to k-space to assist in this endeavor."

Thanks for the input Dr. Ashcroft. The EDF has a history with this man. While the galaxy expects some great revelation on April 29th the EDF expects smokes and mirrors. Corsen has had information since September that could crack open the Metadrive case. He's refused to share this information with people who could help. We have no reason to believe that this information will be shared at anytime in the future. Corsen continues to use his knowledge as leverage to insure his own safety. The only way to respond at this point is to let him know that he can no longer hide behind his stranglehold on this information.

We'll capture him if possible. If not ... we hope that we can piece together the truth from forensic data.

"At least allow me to make an attempt at negotiations before such actions are taken. I have reason to believe he would be receptive to talking with me. Once my business in Witch Head is concluded I will return to Okinura and fill you in on the details personally. As a junior member of the EDF myself, I feel it is my duty to uphold our reputation and act in the best interests of the Federation as a whole. I would hate to see us brought low by unnecessarily rash decisions, this type of situation must be handled delicately. If I find evidence that Raan Corsen is guilty of his accused crimes, I will make the arrest myself if need be."

Thank you for at least listening. I will attempt to establish a line of communication with Vicktore some time tomorrow. I will contact you shortly to collect additional details. While I am well aware of the history the EDF has surrounding this man and his exploits, I find it difficult to understand this decision. I hope that together we can find a better alternative solution that pleases all parties.

For generations the galactic community was massacred for futile and personal motives, petty corporate plots and for the greater good of the great powers. Factions fill their bulletins with murder requests without any plausible justification, never expecting to hear if they want an explanation of the target or bring him to fair trial. The general population can not tolerate this anymore.

And now Earth Defense Fleet comes, like a spoiled child, to issue a death warrant for Raan Corsen, just by not getting a spot on his busy schedule to talk to him? What else can we expect from you? To be killed for questioning? Now I understand the reason he was so hesitant. Is there really a search for the truth here?

I really do not understand his motives, but we know that the great powers are manipulative and act in a dark and cruel way. He's looking for someone he can trust. Maybe we were the first to make contact, maybe because he could trust the motives that led Cobra Wing to raise his troops to protect him. The Cobra Wing does not tolerate any kind of cruel actions against the population of Ebor because its community comes ahead of profits or political plots.

If you want to know the truth? The truth is that it does not matter who Raan Corsen is or what information he has. The truth is, all this corporate bull has already filled the pot, and no one else can stand it.

Remember the 29th day, the day when there will be a galactic schism. The day when the oppressed will turn against the oppressors. What they did created this moment, it is a basic principle of the universe, every action creates an equal and opposite reaction!

Raan Corsen is no longer a person, it is an idea against incriminating acts and death sentences without trial. The gunpowder, the betrayal, the ruse, will not be forgotten. Ideas are not just flesh and blood, ideas are immortal. Raan is the living representation of human indignation. Living or dying no matter what, beside the legendary Salome, truth will transform the universe as we know it. Fear will no longer be the weapon of this ruthless government.

By the power of truth, they will still live, conquer the universe.

Excuse me sir but Femi Dekarai and his family deserve justice. Corsen has been denying them justice for months. We've gone out of our way to protect and harbor this man and yet he still refuses to answer.

Raan Corsen clearly has questions to answer and the EDF as the governing faction in Chi Orionis are entitled to ask them. The EDF has shown exemplary patience in this matter and can not be faulted for drawing a line, I would appeal to the EDF to go to all possible lengths to apprehend rather than terminate Corsen as the galaxy has the right to hear what he has to say.

Many would like to know what was on the files he took, and whether they pertain to all these dead bodies, mega ships, and empty bases that are cluttering up space. If all those files contain are financial chicanery between corps (Business as usual) then you can throw him out of the airlock and use him as target practice, few, if any, will lift an eyebrow. We need to know who killed those people, and why. Frankly, the why may be more important than the who.
