General EARTH LIKE WORLDS - revert back please

I only discovered three, but now they're called "Outdoor Worlds" which is kind of absurd. Explorer's pride is to discover an "Earth Like World" please consider going back to calling them that.

edit: I want to go into detail why this is so important to explorers. You explore the galaxy to find new systems undiscovered and tune that radio in anticipation of that sound, you have grinded through hundreds of jumps, systems and spending a ton of time messing around with a ludicrous scanning system, for what? In the hope you can discover an "EARTH LIKE WORLD" for the good of humanity. Not an "outdoor world" ( I mean who thought of that, outdoor world????)

No...we are searching for "Earth like worlds" and it's very important you revert back to that name please. And while you're at it, add sys info as soon as you hit the system map showing if it's been discovered before and by who. This is another very important thing we need, you must consider this going forward, it's bad decisions here.

And "Footfall?" really? it's enough to discover the system, I actually think that whoever discovers the system is actually enough, having to grind scanning the planets to earn the name is grind, let alone "map them as well?" mapping discoveries should never have been a thing, just like footfall, crazy.

That it I think. Living in hope...

Is this for real? "Outdoor Worlds"? Outdoors to what? My ship? My backyard. It's in space FCOL.
This crap is getting more ridiculous by the minute and has to stop. Something is definitely in the
water in Britishland.

What? Seriously? Didn't notice yet, but i totally agree with the OP about the Earthlikes
(not about the Footfall)

I'm actually out 3000ly looking for Earthlikes. Knowing this now I'm headed back home.
I mean Outdoor Satellite. Thanks FDev, this was fun too while it lasted..

I'm no fan of political correctness either, but how is that applicable in this case? Who would have taken offense at "Earth-like World"? Martians?

It's not that anyone would take offense, nor is this political correctness per se. It's that the decision to rename 'Earth Like Worlds' to 'Outdoor Worlds' obviously comes from a perspective that is driven by a need to strip the human element of what delineates a certain place from any other. The people who are beholden to the PC component of the ideology almost uniformly hold this perspective, and few can resist the urge to inject it into even the most inane places.

If I see you wielding a multimeter it's safe to assume you own wire strippers, despite me not seeing them; it's also safe to assume you have training in electrics.

I think it´s beautiful when there are multiple first anything names from different CMDRs on the system. It makes me imagine as if each CMDR had their own role in exploring the system creating an illusion of cooperative spirit. And anyone who goes out of their way to fill the gaps in a not fully explored system well deserves their name on it.

I was being a bit tongue-in-cheek, but on the other hand, people today get offended over ANYTHING, so it would not surprise me in the least if somebody got offended by "earth-like world" being too similar to terms like "American idealism". I blame the Imperials!

Who knows? 🤷‍♂️

Regardless of this change being good or not, the term is not hard to grasp. If there is no breathable air, you have to stay inside or you'll die. If there is breathable air, you can get outdoors. Hence the "outdoor world". Of course in the game itself, people walk around everywhere with suits on and airlocks are basically just doors. Talk about a ludonarrative dissonance...

They're still listed as "Earth-like Planet" in the Codex. IIRC, in Horizons the system map would list the planet type and then a short description underneath. In Odyssey, all I see is the description. I wonder if the description in Horizons started with "Outdoor world..." as well. I would test, but I don't want to have to redo my bindings again!

I wouldn't reach for the pitchforks just yet. :D

This might be the case
